We were given an attic room with lots of low beams. My husband is 6ft 3 so not good for him. There was a very small bath with a handheld shower- very tricky to use. It was 3 flights up so not good for our dog.
The food was excellent though.

The place is really beautiful and elegant. Needed conditioner in the bathroom but small beans. The restaurant is very well equipped and for fine dining a wonderful experience but if you want a steak, just grilled to perfection, it’s what I’d describe as fussy.

Visited for one night, stayed in a pavilion room which was spacious, refurbished and had all you need for a short stay. Hotel has ample free parking, nice grounds and is next to the riverside park, useful as we had our dog with us. Very dog friendly.
What stands out for this hotel was the evening meal, very good and well priced. Really enjoyed dinning outside. Breakfast was also very nice. Would stay gain if in the area, great and peaceful spot and close to the motorway network.

Breakfast was horrible. Runny Eggs, Cardboard Potatoes, undercooked bacon, overcooked sausage.
Staff was very nice. Room was good, but significantly smaller than advertised.

Bit tricky on the sat nav but well worth the effort outstanding hotel with superb food and accommodation
The spa is a joy and no where near as expensive as you might think
