極佳 A well maintained beautiful classic traditional Japanese ryokan, the service is on the top notch. Everything is perfectly presented. We had a great time staying at the ryokan.

極佳 This is a beautiful old facility. Taxi or bus from train station. An uphill walk from bus station or about $50 taxi. We visitors in January. Icy steps! The staff was great to carry luggage up to room!
Chucky was so nice and helpful. Ask to see his photos from his hometown!

My boyfriend and I had an incredible stay at this ryokan in January of 2025. The property was very beautiful and well maintained! The onsen were excellent as well, once you got the hang of onsen etiquette. The ryokan is also situated near the base of Zao ski resort so you can walk over there for a day of skiing followed by a nice warm soak in the onsen! Additionally the breakfast and dinner experiences were incredible, everything was delicious and my boyfriend's food allergies were taken into account, and there was always an alternative for him (i.e., shrimp was replaced with fish). Can't recommend staying here enough, it was an incredible experience.
