clean rooms right next to a Temple, Super market acrossed the street buses right in front perfect location for Rohm theatre

The king room was exceptionally nice, and thebstaff were always around amd very helpful!

עברתי מחדר קינג משופץ לחדר טווין עם מקלחת ללא עישון וקיבלתי את החדר החדש עם הצ'ק אין של הראשון. חדר הקינג היה מקסים אבל קטן . חדר אבמטיה פיצפון ולא נח. הכל היה אוטומטי. עברתי לחדר באגף הישן. החדר אמנם עם צבעים מלנכוליים, אבל הוא גדול ומרווח עם חדר שירותים ומקלחת נוחים ולשומרי השבת - הכל ידני... מפתח רגיל, שירותים יפניים עם הדחה ידנית ורק הפעלת בידה היא חשמלית. יש חדר מדרגות מואר ונוח וצוות הקבלה פותח בשמחה את הדלת הראשית החשמלית (נוקשים מבחוץ על חלון מסויים והם באים לפתוח את הדלת). מינוס אחד שמצאתי - בחדר הזה לוץא נותנים מים...

Check in process was ok. The staff didn't speak english but used google translate . The room was lovely and spotless but quite small especially the bathroom. There was no safe deposit.

Bad reception desk

Checked in midnight; very friendly frontdesk; clean room and breakfast was very good

It’s not bad, so don’t take the 3* as bad necessarily. The room and property itself is fine, a bit outdated, but decently sized and perfectly functional. The staff were also kind and helpful. Mainly 3 stars because I think it’s overpriced for the location and the hotel age. It does have an onsen and free breakfast, so those are positives, but I noticed some of the residents can be noisy, and I think they host some sort of club or meeting for the Kyoto University students nearby, which can be a bit disruptive. It is also a 20 minute walk from the closest station, and also a 15 minute walk to the closest convenience store/drug stores. There’s a 24hr grocery across the street, but they’re pretty limited in their ready to eat meals, so you’ll probably have to walk a bit to get to anything. I know the hotel does offer a shuttle service to/from Kyoto station, but they only run certain hours and I did not use it, so I can’t comment on that service. Overall, it’s not bad, but for the price I think there are better options both in location, and modern convenience with hotel amenities

Nice hotel with big rooms

High value for money you will not find anywhere else. Although the property may be a bit aged it's well maintained, up to our expectations.
