Gorgeous small boutique hotel in a quieter neighbourhood in Kyoto. Staff were extremely attentive. Room was clean and spacious with lovely toiletries and spa soundtrack to play through the space if you choose. A few complimentary drinks in the fridge refreshed daily. Would go back!

We stayed in the bamboo suite and would highly recommend it. We have traveled the world, and this one was of the best rooms we have ever stayed in. We loved the oversized bathtub, comfortable beds and they have wonderful hair/body/face cleaning products. This is the only hotel that I’ve preferred to use their face wash over my own. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was good, in a quiet neighborhood, and about a 10 minute walk to the bus or metro.

Hotel exceeded our expectations. The hotel was exceptionally clean and beautiful. The staff was amazing. The location was quiet. The stay went above accommodation and was an experience. Would highly recommend.

This is a really nice hotel. Well run with excellent staff. The only thing I’d say for first timers is to be aware that you are about a 25 mins walk from Gion. This is fine but becomes tiresome. The only other thing that was a slight issue was that the air con in our room was very noisy. Again not a big deal but irritating as it switches on and off all night. But otherwise it is a really nice hotel.

Beautiful, spacious room. The staff was amazing would absolutely stay here again. The amenities in the room, from the tea, snacks, toiletries, and the large cedar tub were such a treat.

Such wonderful staff - very kind, welcoming and helpful. Our room was so tranquil and the soaking tub was amazing. We chose to eat at the restaurant and do the beef tasting - the service and food were both exceptional. Highly recommend for a relaxing retreat

The staff was amazing. Extremely friendly and helpful. They planned restaurant reservations for us. Once we arrived, they found out that my wife was allergic to dairy and they contacted each restaurant telling them of this. Breakfast and dinner at the hotel was excellent and we had excellent service there.

Highlight of our Japan trip, amazing hotel and facilities, even better staff. And best coffee we found was less than a minute away.

I loved our stay at Junei Hotel Kyoto. Our room was wonderfully clean, spacious, and I loved the Hinoki private bath. The breakfast each day subtly changed and was an excellent add on! The bed was super comfortable and the amenities were a bonus. Lastly, the towels were the softest and more comfortable that I’ve ever felt!

The Junei Hotel in Higashiyama was one of the most beautiful and classy hotels that we ever stayed!! The hotel room was so special, and truly zen!! (with zen like music playing in the room). The staff was so kind, helpful and professional! The Japanese Breakfasts were the most elegant breakfasts we’ve ever had. They were so thoughtfully prepared and served!! The location was excellent! We’d highly recommend Junei Hotel in Higashiyama!!!
