Hotel staff was very friendly, professional, and assisted us with all matters of our inquiries and other restaurants to enjoy.

Excellent view and location for the beach. The staff were lovely. The only downside compared to other Relais & Chateaux’s we’ve been too, it felt a bit small (the room) and felt like it was missing amenities the others have, like a pool!

The friendly reception and clean and very well organised rooms are amazing. Sleeping with a window open and hearing the sea...spectacular! The Michelin Star cuisine was superb ...thank you!

I’m not sure how this hotel would be considered 5 star. There are absolutely no amenities... pool, gym, valet etc. I’d say solid 3 star. The restaurant server was very rude to us. Our room smelled like well water and the bed was the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever seen in any hotel. The location was no where near anything so we couldn’t walk… but the ocean view was amazing if you pay $700 for a good room. This hotel is no where near that price I promise you’ll be disappointed. The restaurant near the bar was overpriced and underwhelming. The dinner restaurant food was good and priced about average for a tasting menu…. But was over shadowed by the rude server. If you’re a picky eater you won’t like it there.. very unique tastings with a talented chef though. The hotel is a remodeled fort from the 17th century which sounds cool but it doesn’t feel like a cool vibe at all when you’re there. The beach is near but theres no beech amenities like most 5 star hotels have… no lawn chairs or servers.. just sand about a 7 minute walk away. It’s a public beech. If you don’t mind not having a good ocean view and can get the room for $250 a night.. I’d say it’s worth it. There are actually 5 star hotels for half the price about 20 minutes away… go there… you’ll have a 20 minute car ride regardless to anything worth seeing in town.

Amazing place absolutely beautiful. Jr. Suite was gorgeous and views were wonderful. Good food and very nice staff.

Staff greeted us as we parked and immediately took our bags to our rooms as we checked in. Found fresh fruit, port, soda and water waiting in rooms, all standard and included. Staff was knowledgeable and exceedingly friendly. Best stay while in Portugal for 2 weeks. Highly recommend.

Wow! This is a terrific hotel! The entire staff is friendly and professional. The food is terrific! It’s a lovely quiet hotel. It was very restful. I would gladly stay here again!
