This was our first trip to Madeira and staying at a Porto Bay Hotel but it will certainly not be our last. The Island is wonderful, the people charming and so friendly. Whilst you expect tourist based organisations to care about providing guests with a good experience, the staff at Suite Eden Mar do this effortlessly and I understand why they have such a high reputation and re-visitor rate. Was it the most upmarket hotel I have ever stayed in, no! However it was certainly the most friendliest I have ever stayed out and you 'feel' the care throughout the organisation.

Both myself and my son have had a wonderful 5 night stay at Eden Mar Suites. We stayed on a B&B basis. Staff were always helpful. Rooms spacious and cleaned daily. Pool and bar area were beautifully maintained and with brilliant service at the poolside bar and area. Breakfast was amazing with a variety of everything including fresh fruits and salad. Service again was fantastic. It has been our first stay at Eden Mar but definitely won't be the last 😊

June 2026 Visit, couple in mid 30's who hiked most mornings and relaxed by the pool in the afternoon, half board, basic room during off season, nice toiletries provided. The Good: Plenty of parking, sunloungers, choice of tables at meal times, no queuing, reception staff helpful, rooms cleaned daily, beautiful garden setting, good quality buffet food. Improvements: Clearer instructions on how to arrive by car (car park is accessed via connecting sister hotel and Eden Mar reception not clear from the road/pavement until you know where it is. Would have liked yoga/pilates sessions to happen daily and before breakfast (they were 2 x per week around 11am), would have liked more than one pool dance class too, this was also indoors so I didn't attend. Few items in the room were dinked and well used e.g. chairs, table etc. Bathroom in need of a refresh. Neither a big issue, but didn't feel as luxe as the rest of the hotel.

Great stay. lovely property, nice breakfast buffet, live music every night, and an excellent pool/hot tub.

Very friendly staff and wonderful food at the hotel restaurants

Great facilities, beautiful gardens and view, well maintained. Buffets (dinner and breakfast) didn't have great equipment to keep the food warm, but otherwise good (though the multitude of mousse type desserts really all taste the same). Very quiet and comfortable room. Hotel completely ignored my request for info on public transportation and only promoted its linked taxi service which I didn't appreciate.

Staff at the reception counter were professional, courteous, and helpful. Staff in the restaurants could have been a little bit more helpful but no big deal.

Good choice of breakfast. Spacious bedroom. Lovely gardens.

Breakfast was fresh and lots of variety. Pools were spacious and great condition
