The staff are so helpful and attentive, they go above and beyond. Thomas also shared a lot of knowledge about the hikes around the area that was super helpful to us. The property is wonderful: cozy, comfortable, clean. We were fortunate to have a corner room with a balcony and the views are amazing. There is a shared fridge in the lobby you can use, there are also extra hiking poles if needed. We also loved seeing the bunnies when we come in at the end of the day.

Ausgezeichnet! (Excellent) I must say, on this trip we had no other host as friendly, helpful, or as willing to chat as Tomas. Honestly - and we stayed at some very nice hotels/chalets (including this one), but we were most impressed with him. He provided excellent advice on the mountains to visit, trains/lifts, and times of operation for such services. They even provided a discount card for the lift to Mannlichen. He is a fantastic person and resource! The breakfast spread - if you opt for this - is excellent. Sara was very prompt and attentive in her service. Eggs made to your preference, wonderful fresh bread, fruits, etc. The evening we arrived the chef chatted to me about what would be on the menu and invited me into kitchen to show ingredients and explain preparation. We really enjoyed this kind of personalized experience. The room was clean, well maintained, and had nice views. As this is a 2-star hotel the room amenities were a little more spartan. But as I said, it was clean, and all facilities were functional. We were very comfortable. We were traveling around Switzerland as our oldest son had a competition in Bulle. He was with the team, but we had another one of our boys among, so we made use of the rec room in the lower level. We played ping pong & fussball. They do also have a sauna/spa area on the same level, which we didn’t utilize, Looked to be a nice resource! Highly recommended. When (not if) we return, we’ll be back to Hotel Edelweiss! -The Brauns

Wonderful hotel with incredible views. Daniel, Tomas and Sarah couldn’t do enough to make our stay just perfect, from advice about walks and restaurants to the best scrambled eggs at breakfast. We had the best time. Thank you

I’d like to separate my reviews of the property vs. the specific room I booked. The property was outstanding. The staff make you feel like you are staying at a luxury resort, they are all fantastic. Housekeeping was excellent and the grounds and views are beautiful, plus free coffee throughout the day. However, I really regretted booking my specific room- as a solo traveler I thought I could handle the single bed room, but it was the size of a walk-in closet. I paid $1000 for four nights of being very claustrophobic and uncomfortable. That being said, the larger rooms with balconies are stunning and I would rate the actual property 10/10. Just be cautious as a solo traveler, I don’t think anyone over age 30 would be comfortable in the single bed room- I thought I could handle it but really regretted it.

Amazing place!

Staff were wonderful especially Tomas and Louise. Room was small but comfortable. Food was great and complimentary breakfast was excellent. Sauna was a definite bonus.

Extremely friendly staff. Delicious breakfast and dinner. Chef personally cares about make sure every guest has a good experience. Front desk and supporting staff are all very helpful. We would recommend this place to anybody visiting the area. Location is excellent too.

The staff are warm and inviting. Breakfast started the day out right! Would 100% recommend.
