There were rats crawling up the palm trees in the courtyard. Very musty and dusty. Restaurant/bar was closed.

Great location. Clean rooms, very small showers though, so beware. If you are a person of size, there's a chance you won't fit into the opening. I'd imagine it's only about 18-20 inches at best. As small as a linen closet.

They upcharged me for parking, a roll away bed, etc. it was nuts. I ended up paying twice the price because I needed a roll away. NEVER AGAIN

We had prepaid two nights at the Hollywood Hotel but left after the first night. The public areas have some historic charm, and although the area is shifty, the secure parking was good. Our room was shabby with chipped paint on walls and furniture. Expedia listed that the room had blackout drapes, but as noted by other reviewers, the drapes were thin and did not block the light. The main reason for sacrificing the money paid for the second night was the bed. It was very hard, dipped in the middle and made a loud cracking noise whenever one of us moved. I awoke with back pain which lasted for two days. It was worth the $216 to not have to face the bed again.

Loved our stay at the hotel! My fiancée and I had a special trip planned to see a play in Hollywood. Shout out to Michael for making that trip extra special with and upgraded room and excellent service! Will definitely be staying again!

The hotel is nice and the rooms are spacious. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The pool is great! The fitness room is pretty sub par. The surrounding area is very run down, but I never felt unsafe. There are some great restaurants and cafes in walking distance (nido cafe, yellow button cafe, Bianca’s deli) I would stay here again.

First impression was that the Historical ambiance was nice. So the host staff was hit and miss. Some were responsive once I got their attention, others were just matter of fact. The pool was there but not opened for use, No good excuse for that in the middle of July. I was told that they had an on site bar/club. They do not. I asked them about it and they advised that they were waiting for city approval. Parking was additional $40+ per night. EV Charging was not working at some chargers, and you can hardly read the screen at the ones that did work. No coffee maker in the room. Only one bath towel in a room reserved for two people. There was no top sheet on the bed, and one of the pillows smelled like body odor. We had to ask support staff for sheet and towels and she was very nice. The AC was loud and sounded like something was loose inside the vent. The room had obvious visual needs for maintenance.

Good for a short trip, friendly staff and good breakfast.
