My wife and I stayed for our honeymoon and we loved the property. We stayed during low season and it felt like we had the place to ourselves. The staff were some of the friendliest and most helpful of any place I've ever stayed. Our casita was spotless and well appointed. It was nice coming back to the room each night to find the cookies that were left for us during the turndown services. The prices were very fair and the food was excellent. We didn't get a chance to eat in a couple of the restaurants because the property wasn't busy enough for the them to open. Which was fine, we understand that they're not going to open just for us. We met another couple in the pool on our first day and they said they thought the food on property was some of the best they had on the island. I would say it's as good as some of the best we had on the island for sure. Overall, we loved our stay and if we find ourselves back in San Pedro, we'll definitely be at Matachica.

Everything 10/10!! Wonderful staff - all friendly and so helpful. Fantastic room which was kept extremely clean and tidy by the awesome cleaning and turn down staff. The A/C kept the room consistently cool and comfy too! The amenities and resort overall were beautiful! Matachica has a very calm and peaceful vibe. I can’t recommend it enough! (Especially for a honeymoon or extra special trip of a different sort) The excursions offered at the resort are exceptional and run by the staff at the resort. They are convenient and reasonably priced. If there is anything else you want to do that they don’t offer, they are extremely helpful in getting things setup to make sure you see whatever you want! The sargassum is expected at this time of year but they had a crew working tirelessly all day to keep the beaches from filling up with weeds. The hard work done by the crew made a huge difference and the smell overall was very minimal throughout our 8 day stay. Exceptional experience at Matachica!!

This was a fantastic resort to stay at. The entire staff was helpful, accommodating and communicative. The restaurant and spa on site are incredible. I recommend the coffee scrub and chocolate body wrap. The excursions are fun and the staff are so helpful when it comes to making your visit special. Every morning you wake up there feels like a movie. If you’re going to Belize this is the absolute best place to stay.

The air con in the seafront villa left much to be desired and thus made it difficult to really enjoy the room after sunrise.

Need more entertainment and food selections and the room was not the size they said it was smaller so I felt that false advertisement

From the moment of arrival to the sad day of departure, every detail at this resort was fantastic. The staff beyond reproach, the culinary delights never ending and grounds beautiful. We enjoyed both the bistro and the Mambo restaurant during our stay which has different menus and selections. Although it was sargassum season, the staff was removing it regularly as best they were able, but it did not stop using onsite equipment to enjoy the ocean and there is always the refreshing pool. I loved that each villa/casita had its own unique fruit or water related name. They even set up a tv to show the FIFA matches and NBA playoff games. The sales team helped me set up a wonderful hosted happy hour in our villa to celebrate a milestone birthday. Shout out to Angelita, Sher, William, Steven, Archie, Gustavo, Alex, Yennifer...I know I am missing others that made my staff memorable! I would highly recommend this location to anyone, couples or singles, wanting a quiet beautiful resort, with an all-around feeling of being pampered.

The sargassum is terrible. It is so bad that no one can enjoy the beach or any relaxation spot on the beach. The smell is very strong due to so much sargassum. The staff super nice and friendly.

This well maintained, beautifully landscaped, staffed with friendliness and attentiveness Resort is one of a kind. The uniquely named Casitas surrounded by greenery, bordering the aqua ocean is so calming and aesthetically inviting. It is a place with a very relaxing, calm, quiet vibe. The culinary delights through breakfast lunch and dinner were exceptional. Everything freshly made. This was a perfect Group vacation to celebrate a birthday and I highly recommend this place to anyone considering it.

Mata Chica is the best hotel with the best staff on the island hands down. We have been here twice and there is no other place in our minds that offer this type of experience
