Perfect location for exploring Ljubljana. Dozens of restaurants are within a few blocks, and it’s only a short walk to the scenic riverfront lined with beautiful historic buildings. Everything is just steps from the front door. This is a quaint hotel with plenty of charm and a few quirks. As long as you don’t expect or require a typical American hotel room, you’ll likely enjoy your stay. We stayed on the very top floor, which meant lots of stairs—and I stress, lots of narrow, winding stairs! It was difficult for my mother, but that was my fault for not reading the description more carefully. The staff helped us with our luggage, which we really appreciated. Our attic room had two double beds tucked beneath the slanted roofline, along with two small rooms, each with a twin bed. The double beds under the eaves required ducking to get into. While they technically sleep two, I wouldn’t recommend it since each bed can only be accessed from one side. The shower was tiny and outdated, but it was clean, and the rooms were clean as well. The hotel’s character, the friendliness of the staff, and the outstanding location made it an endearing place to stay. It felt like we were guests in a historic, timeworn, and well-loved home of a benevolent relative. If you’re open-minded and can embrace a few idiosyncrasies and lots of stairs as part of your adventure, you’ll enjoy the attic room. You’ll most certainly enjoy the location and staff.

Fantastic All Around!

Charming. Room was small but lovely, with a balcony! Staff was extremely cordial.

The hotel was beautiful, easy to access by taxi drop off, close to the historic district and within walking distance to many fantastic restaurants and shops. The staff were inviting and helpful, giving suggestions for routes, dining and ways to experience the city without having to fight many of the crowds. 10/10 would stay here again.

The Allegro is in Old Town Ljubliana and within walking distance of most sights. The staff is kind, multi lingual and knows their city! We loved our room on the courtyard. We enjoyed the breakfasts too. My wife's favorite hotel on this trip!

Great location in the Old Town near to sites and restaurants. Highly recommend

Very nice hotel in the heart of old Ljubjana. Ask for room #1. Very quiet, well appointed and comfortable. The front desk staff were extremely helpful. There are no elevators but our room was on the ground floor. You are steps away from all the bars and restaurants along the river. They serve a very nice breakfast. We would definitely recommend and we would stay again. I

All staff were amazing, from initial check-in on Friday March 6th to the Kitchen (fantastic Scrambled Eggs) and I want to make particular mention to Tina from Reception who is an absolute superstar! Tina went out of her way to assist me in finding Gluten Free Dining options including telling me about the various local dishes, drinks and the best places to go. Her manor and demeanour is incredibly professional and she deserves to be recognised for her exceptional customer service skills.

The staff were very good, provided detailed information, and were helpful and professional. The only downside was that the hotel is advertised as a 4-star, but unfortunately, it’s not on par with that level; it offers more 3-star amenities.
