Excellent hotel in a beautiful and old building. I believe it was a tea house long ago, now renovated and modernized into a hotel. The staff was very helpful. There are several bus stops nearby, so getting around Kyoto was easy. 7-11 is a few doors down in case you need a quick snack.

The room was beautiful. Location was a bus ride from the nearest train station, but easy enough to navigate.

Private onsen, private bath tub

The Koubai suite was wonderful. The outdoor bath is very private and peaceful. The bed was extremely comfortable and the private garden was lovely. This is my favourite room in Japan so far!

Rating should be higher. Quality experience, suoer clean , extremely helpful and courteous staff

This was a highlight of our trip! A truly luxurious experience - it was the best shower of my life and the indoor and outdoor baths were restorative after a week of travel and climbing Mount Inari earlier that day. Lovely interiors and a gorgeous mix of modern and traditional.

Room was spacious, staff was very friendly and accommodating. Great amenities. The area/street was quiet but the rooms soundproofing are not great and I could hear noise from adjacent rooms. May need a taxi or spend time in transit to go site seeing, but some places are walkable. I enjoyed the outside bath even on rainy nights, as it was under cover. Overall enjoyed my stay here.

Bit high for outdated/ if you don’t mind old building this may be worth looking into
