I have been staying here for years and it has never once disappointed me. It’s clean, tidy, well maintained and the breakfast is great.

I thought that staying near the airport would be prudent as I was flying to the states early in the morning- but that wasn’t the case. The shuttle takes a half hour minimum from airport to hotel. It’s a small van that fills quickly. Miss it or if it fills you are in trouble. Amsterdam Airport is a nightmare. Ask 3 officials the same question get 3 different answers. There is no public transportation near the hotel. If you want to go to town to eat dinner you have to go back to the airport to catch a train there. They charged me 25 Euros to check in 2 Hours early.

The bedding, a huge duvet, was heavy and very hot for sleeping in a room with barely adequate air conditioning. The dense foam mattress only added to the heating. Ended up tearing the duvet apart and sleeping under the duvet cover. The main restaurant was closed for the summer (except for breakfast?) in an area with no nearby restaurants, The bar and grill was okay. The glass, swing door for the bathroom lacked privacy. The breakfast buffet was huge and good but very expensive.

For the price, this hotel exceeded expectations. The amenities were clean, accessible and enjoyable. Fabian was a lifesaver after a long flight - his customer service was exceptional and he gave great recommendations for our day in the city.
