We had a wonderful stay at Gora Hanaougi. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, and everything was spotlessly clean. The location was perfect — being so close to Sounzan Station made it easy to visit Owakudani, and the shuttle service to Gora Station was very convenient. Highly recommend!

I cannot imagine staying at a better ryokan. The property is beautiful and immaculate. The staff ran to greet us on the street and was very welcoming and attentive throughout our visit. Miyu was our incredible hostess and she was wonderfully friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. The room comfortable and clean. I hope we have an opportunity to return.

Truly an experience to enjoy while visiting Japan. I’d like to return on day.

Beautiful room, amazingly attractive & kind staff, dinner was an event we won’t forget. Loved the location, near open air museum & ropeway. All was spectacular!

We were treated exceptionally well from beginning to end. This was one of the best hotel/spa experiences I have had in a long time. I would do this again without a doubt.

The staff were very polite but not necessarily very helpful. I think language may have been a barrier. Dinner was good. Did not care for the Japanese breakfast. Presentation of the food and the food service were both very good. Rooms were small.

This was a highlight of our time in Japan! So relaxing, beautiful view, and very kind staff. The food was also amazing quality, a bit unique for those who may not be used to this kind of cuisine.. but worth a try. Overall a lovely experience!

Amazing stay! They really went above and beyond to make our honeymoon special. Great food, beautiful room with an onsen inside it! Highly recommend Gora Hanougi as a respite on a busy city filled itinerary in Japan. I’d love to come back and stay here again.

This entire stay was an experience. From the minute you walk in, you are greeted by a team of people who help you every step of the way. It felt like a spa, a home and a luxury hotel all at the same time! I have stayed at many luxury resorts but this was by far the best overall experience. Highly recommend. The breakfast and dinners were exceptional. We were seated in a private room for both. My daughter has a lactose allergy and they adapted the menu for her. The thoughtfulness and care taken was so nice. And the private onsen and the room was perfect. If you can stay for a couple of nights, I highly recommend it. Perfection.
