This is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in for a city break. We had a room with a terrace, and the view was absolutely incredible. The room was really clean, bed was comfy, shower was powerful and the staff were really helpful and friendly - what more could you possibly want? We will definitely be returning (already planning our next visit!) and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an unforgettable holiday to Barcelona.

Dear Expedia Customer Support, I am writing to formally request a full refund for my stay at Room Mate Carla Barcelona due to a series of unacceptable issues that have made our stay extremely disappointing. My daughter and I have been staying at the hotel for the past four days, and from the moment we arrived, we have experienced one problem after another. On our first day, we found ants in our room. Although we reported the issue immediately, it took the hotel more than 24 hours to move us to another room. After the room change, the problems continued. The new room had clearly not been cleaned to an acceptable standard. One of the floors was left extremely sticky, demonstrating a lack of basic hygiene. Tonight, the situation became completely unacceptable. It is currently 1:30 a.m., and my daughter and I are unable to sleep because the air conditioning has stopped working. Despite reporting the problem, the only response we received was that there was no immediate solution. We were not offered another room, a fan, or any alternative whatsoever. As a mother traveling alone with my daughter, being left without any practical solution in the middle of the night is simply unacceptable. This has not been an isolated incident but a continuous pattern of poor service and inadequate hotel management throughout our stay. We booked this hotel through Expedia because we trusted your platform, your reviews, and your recommendations. In fact, this is our second stay at this hotel because

We had a comfortable stay overall, but there was an ant infestation in our room. Every time we brought back leftovers from restaurants, ants got into the takeout containers and all over our food, so we had to throw it away. We didn't report it because our stay was short, and rather than spend time dealing with it, we simply stopped bringing food back to the room and focused on enjoying our trip. The hotel is also quite expensive for what I consider an average property. While the stay was comfortable overall, I expected better maintenance and value for the price.

The staff were very friendly and were able to help with all our needs. The breakfast buffet has so many options and very delicious.

The hotel needs a lot of TLC. Dirty hallways, found a box of condoms in the room. Did not feel safe. Breakfast is very poor and the tables are filthy. Not enough staff. Overall; stay away ! Much better options around at the same price and much much better.

Room Mate Carla is in a great location. We didn't need to use a taxi at all, we could walk to all the things we wanted to see. There are also some nice restaurants nearby. The hotel itself exceeded my expectations. We were able to store our bags while waiting for our room with no issues. The room was very nice and the AC worked great. If we are in Barcelona again, we will stay at Roo Mate Carla.

It was great that breakfast lasted until 12 noon this allowed you to rest and got up without feeling rushed to get breakfast in the mornings

The staff were amazing. The place was clean and room was big with a balcony. Although its not in the hustle and bustle area I tell you its very safe and upscale with parking lot near buy. I was robbed on the boardwalk arwa and my head was on a swivel but felt very secure at this hotel and the area. We walked to all the sights and some amazing resturants close by. They have a fridge. Only wish is they had a coffee machine in the room.
