Everything was ok, however the room smells musky leading to Astma attack, cancelled stay after one day. Staff was courteous to pay back the advance pay. Thank you

Stayed at The Fern Kochi for one night before starting a 6-day trip through Kerala and it was a solid choice. The property has a cool vibe and feels a bit different from your typical hotel, which I liked. Some parts are a little dated, but everything was clean and worked well, so it didn’t take away from the stay. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout, which made things easy, especially for a quick stopover. Food was ok, nothing over the top but definitely reliable enough for breakfast. There's a better option for dinner around the corner. One thing to keep in mind is that it’s a bit isolated and near the port area of the city..you’ll need a car to get around or into the main parts of Kochi. That said, it also makes it quieter and more relaxed. Overall, a good, easy stay and a nice way to kick off a longer trip through Kerala.

Lovely old property that is well maintained. Very peaceful location, nice breakfast, pretty pool area.

We had three rooms booked for a party of 6. The bathroom in one of the room was smelly and remained so even after the staff did some cleaning there. Most of the towels had a mildewy smell. I'd say about half the towels. Finally, the drain in the shower does not keep up with the tap. As you shower the soapy water starts to pool at your feet. Post shower you need to quickly wash your feet again. When I complained about this, they sent an electrician to fix it who said that is just how the plumbing works. Each of those issues costs a start in the review. The staff is courteous and tries to be helpful. They are likely operating within constraints that they have no control over. All in all, it was an experience I would not want to repeat. ... oh.. one more thing: the pillows are massive - not sure who can sleep with their neck at the angle that imposes on your neck. They do bring a standard and sensibly sized pillow if you ask. The overall experience was far worse than would be expected at the prices the hotel charges. And I can't account for gap between my experience and what the ratings say. My guess is that the locals have different tastes and expectations. My living and traveling has mostly been in North America and Europe.

The breakfast was fantastic and service was very attentive.

Nice clean hotel with nice staff. Not the best location.

The stay was really great. The staff was super helpful. We were travelling with a baby and they were understanding and accommodating to all our requests! The restaurant staff even played with her allowing us to eat. The food was really taste and the spread for breakfast and dinner was expansive and tasty irrespective of the type of cuisine. Thank you for making our stay so memorable.

Rooms were clean and spacious. Housekeeping needs improvement- only one towel in one of the rooms, mini bar was not cleaned. However, they were quick to respond to requests. In room dining needs improvement as well
