Good place. Could do with addressing the noise and light from the corridor permeating into the room due to massive gaps under the door.

Nice and clean place to stay. Close to amenities and very nice and good service staff especially the restaurant staff.

I was extremely disappointed with my stay at KingsGate Autolodge Paihia. Although our visit was very short, our experience was unfortunately overshadowed by the poor service we received at check-in. We arrived late in the evening, fully expecting that most places nearby would already be closed. We were checked in by Jaime at the front desk, whose attitude was cold and unwelcoming from the very beginning. It genuinely felt as though she wanted to do the absolute bare minimum. When I later returned to ask about the hotel’s facilities, the answers I received were vague and unhelpful. The most disappointing incident occurred while we were playing table tennis and waiting for a food delivery. Jaime came running towards us and loudly called out, “Did you order food? Your delivery driver is waiting. Your phone is unreachable, so he contacted the property. Please come and get it!” The manner in which this was handled was abrupt, unprofessional, and frankly embarrassing. Having stayed at hotels all over the world—including budget backpacker accommodations—I have never experienced staff communicating with guests in such a disrespectful way. That said, I would like to recognize Rrohan and Melody, who were exceptional throughout our stay. They were friendly, approachable, and genuinely made us feel welcome. They were easily the standout members of the team, and if I were ever to return, it would be because of the service they provided.

Good size room although was up 2 flights of steps and there was no lift. Would be difficult for older travellers or those with a disability to access. Located opposite bay which is very picturesque. Short walk to dining and shopping

Easy check in as prepaid room. We were staying a few nights, we dragged up our bags and unpacked everything, loaded up the fridge etc. it was a little stuffy so turned on the air conditioning in the bedroom but there was no power on the unit, no lights coming on, same thing with the one in the living room. I went to the front desk to complain and they sent me back to my room with someone from the front desk, he just confirmed they were not working, we unfortunately had to pack up and move rooms to one which was less ideal. The ocean view is amazing and the view is incredible. Bed was the most plush & comfortable I’ve been in. Nice that the kitchenette had an air fryer.

The noise in the room from other guests was off the charts. There is a central corridor connecting the rooms and all the noise from kids, people talking etc comes straight under the door into the room. I barely slept

Did not need air condition

The bedroom & bathroom were clean & tidy, with a good air con unit in the bedroom. Staff were friendly as well. The hotel is in a great location in Paihia. The only minor issue is a lack of room safe, and the shower in the bathroom could do with an upgrade - just wasn’t powerful enough
