I stayed at Delmont Hotel after needing a local place for a wedding — it was the last available room, and after reading the reviews and welcome emails, I expected a good experience. On arrival, there was no parking outside. I called reception as I’m not local to ask about nearby parking and was told there wasn’t any - I ended up finding a pay-and-display car park around a 4-minute walk away. At reception, a guest was complaining that a staff member had entered her room and said she no longer felt safe staying there, which wasn’t a great first impression. The room itself was extremely small, especially for £100 per night. There was mould in the shower, a used towel left hanging up, dirty bathroom surfaces, cobwebs and holes in the wall. There was also no fan or air conditioning. During the night, I woke up several times because the walls were very thin and I could hear conversations from neighbouring rooms. Very disappointed with this hotel & will not be returning. I’ve contacted the hotel directly and I’m waiting for a response.

The location is great , view fantastic but the room was dated, carpets have shrank off the gripper extractor fan in the bathroom sounds like a tractor engine until it gets warmed up , If it was cheap you could put up with it but at £150 a night i think we’d have got better

When I arrived in Scarborough by train I used the Google maps on my phone to find this hotel since I wasn't sure where it's location was. Staff customer service skills were fantastic. There was a lift inside the hotel, which I only used twice. I wasn't a fan of that lift. On 19/6 when I first wanted to use it I was having a problem with getting the lift to work, a member of staff on the reception desk shown me how to close the lift door. I wasn't sure how to use the blind in my bathroom of my room, I tried a few times on my first night but gave up with it. There was a landline phone in my room but I never used it. There was no numbers to make contact with the staff downstairs even if I wanted to use that landline phone. The signal for listening to the radio through the TV wasn't the best. I didn't have any problems getting the shower to work. My room was spacious & very clean. The price of the beer at the hotel was a little bit over priced. There was a black box on the reception desk to put your key in when you check out

The room was dirty looks like it had not been cleaned for years and all the fixtures and furniture where about to drop off .what a waste of £175.but I will take steps to recover.

For context. Stayed here after a Paul Weller concert. The hotel decided the appropriate price for a small double room the night should be £259.01 (excluding breakfast). I get that they were maximising their opportunity but....at best this is a £100-£125 per night hotel. Don't know when the stair wells, corridors and bedrooms were last decorated ( 20 years ago?) - probably the same time as the stair carpets were properly cleaned to remove stains. On check in found our bathroom had not been cleaned . Lots of hair in shower, dirty sink and toilet. This was attended to after we reported it - but it should have been done before we checked in. Part used small bottles of shampoo and shower gel were left around the bathroom and were still there after it was cleaned. Grim build up of grim on outside of shower enclosure (even after cleaning). Large shower broken but smaller one was OK. Well located above the cliffs and a handy for the Open Air Theatre but would not stay again.

Top floor walls paper thin every conversation and toilet visit audible especially after a wedding party finishing at 00.30, other guests not caring. Shower cubicle tiles broken sealant black and soaps not new. bottles half refilled. Dust everywhere carpet dirty poor quality coffee in rooms. No one around at check out to advise of issues

Having stayed at this hotel previously,we were hoping for a pleasant enjoyable stay as we had before. How wrong could we be, The room we were allocated was dirty so much so my partner went around the room with wet wipes to remove dust and filth from surfaces and mirrors.In the bathroom the lino flooring hadn't been mopped and the skirting boards haven't been cleaned for the past 6months I would say.The shower door leaks and the sealant around the bath is loose and as got black mould on it...The extractor fan was clogged with dust meaning it doesn't work and again hasn't been cleaned in ages.When staying in hotels the minimum we expect is cleanliness and this room was a disgrace, it's obvious nobody is checking the rooms after the cleaners have been in...

Absolutely fantastic hotel, easy to get to beach area and shops. Fantastic staff really enjoyed our stay we will be back, go for sea view room was the best..
