Power kept going out in late afternoon and during the night. I have sleep apnea and to be honest , didn’t sleep last 2 nights because of power issues. I guess they had no backup generators. Our bathroom sink also backed up and wouldn’t drain. I called them 2 times to fix it but they never resolved the problem. To be honest, I wouldn’t stay there again

Las instalaciones del hotel estan bien mantenidas, es limpio y ordenado. El gimnasio bien equipado, con sala para pilates suelo o yoga. Sauna impecable! Tiene un kids club lindo con varios juegos para los niños (de mesa o video juegos). La ubicación del hotel es 10/10, solo hay que cruzar una calle para llegar a la playa. Se puede ir caminando a varios restaurantes vista al mar. La playa frente al hotel es muy agradable, con reposeras y quitasol. Cabe destacar el desayuno buffet y la atencion del staff del restaurant impecable! Super atentos y amables. Pero si quieres ir a descansar tienes que considerar que: - Dicen ser un hotel para familias, pero claramente NO lo es. Hay convenciones con fiestas hasta tarde (se escucha desde la habitación la musica, no esta bien aislado el ruido). Uno escucha a la gente gritando en los pasillos post fiesta. Lamentablemente el front desk un desastre, mala voluntad y no son amables. El dia que llegamos a hacer el check in, las personas del lobby (informaciones) y front desk ni siquiera un “hola, que tal.” No nos explicaron nada del hotel, que actividades habian o las instalaciones. Te llaman a la pieza en horarios inadecuados, cuando uno duerme (21:00) o tocan la puerta a las 08:00 para hacer la habitación. Como NO es un hotel familiar, NO hay consideracion por los niños pequeños. Preguntamos por late check out y la respuesta fue No, una pena que el staff del front desk sea asi de inflexible y desconsiderado con los niños pequeños.

Outstanding

I had an oceanfront room and this was an exceptional stay. From the check in assistance by Julia at the front desk, to Gustavo at my check out, I had an amazing stay at Grand Hyatt for 4 days and I'd definitely be back here again. I am very sensitive to noise and even though the oceanfront room is by the avenue, the soundproofing of the balcony door was so superb, once you close it, the whole noise of the outer world is away from you. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the shower was spacious and so was the room, giving me plenty of space to move in it comfortably. The housekeeping was incredible, I am already a very tidy person but when I came back to my room, their touch made things even better than I expected. I loved the fact that the portion of the ocean this hotel sees is much more calmer than most beaches of Rio. I also stopped by Canto for lunch once and a drink when I checked out, and the server Monique was very helpful and warm. Overall, it's been a great experience for me. I was a solo, woman traveller. Would highly recommend this place to anyone interested.
