The room was booked via Expedia and I have noticed a pattern that when a hotel room is booked via any 3rd party that the rooms are sub standard. My room in the Sofitel had curtains hanging off the hooks, the wall to the left hand side behind the curtain had paint peeling off. This is not acceptable for a hotel of this standard. Hotels should not give discounted rooms to 3rd parties and when guests check in give them substandard rooms.

Property was well-maintained in appearance, cleanliness and amenities. Rooms were modern and clean with room-service, bathrobes, slippers, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, and toiletries, refrigerator, complimentary waters, crisps, nespresso machine, tea and hot water kettle. Room service was timely and food was excellent! Staff spoke English and were very helpful and professional. Has a salon and spa (we used both services and were very pleased). Location is central and walking distance to major sites, streets, cafes, shops and the main city square. Excellent hotel. Highly recommend.

The room was large and clean. Location is just OK, a good walk to restaurants and farther to shopping. Located on the river. Not close to the train station.

The staff were excellent. For a top dollar hotel it lacked that bit of luxury. Was a little disappointed to be allocated a room on the first floor as it didn't have the view the higher floors had.

Excellent location to all major attractions. If you want to forego the hotel breakfast there's plenty of breakfast options within a short walking distance
