We love this hotel -- we've been staying here for 27 years, twice now in its new incarnation under the Mercure ownership. The room was impeccably clean, most all the staff were welcoming and friendly, and the location couldn't be more perfect, on a small street off the rue de Lyon, a few steps from the gare. We also were able to stay in our favorite room again: no. 3, extremely quiet, just off the entrance, and so there's no waiting for the elevator. A few items could be improved on: The quality of the tissues and toilet paper is very low. Blowing one's nose doesn't feel good with this paper thin, nearly scratchy paper. And the toilet paper is so sparse on each roll that we had to request extra rolls twice in a five-day stay. There's little space to put away one's clothes. I brought portable coat hangers with me, and thank goodness I did. There also almost no space in the bathroom for one's "bathroom stuff": luckily I brought a hanging "kit" that I had to use. Finally, I installed my own (suction held) wall hooks for towels, because there were just not enough. BREAKFAST. They offer copious and delicious options -- it's 10 times better than it was before the Mercure took over the establishment. Yet when we arrived at 7:00 am, the eggs and orange juice were out, "un manque" that lasted for nearly 20 minutes, despite my bringing it up to two employees. I also had to bus my own table in order to have a place to sit. Perhaps a staff member was missing this morning?

As soon as we checked in the staff was friendly and offered great ideas about where to eat.

Loved the hotel. Loved that the 12th felt less touristy. Conveniently located near a ton of restaurants and the Gare de Lyon train station. 10/10 would recommend.

The rooms were very small, but to be expected for Paris. Staff was very very nice and the hotel overall was a great option.

50 Euros to check in before 14:00. That is unacceptable

The room was nothing like de photos! It smelled like mold, the walls were dirty, the towels smelled like bleech. Everytime we showered the whole bathroom floaded. Everything in the room was old and tacky. I’m really disappointed cuz I’ve trusted the pictures. Reception was pretty and the room did not follow the pattern. Also the location is not good, really far from everything. Staff was super polite e gentil though.

Very comfortable and staff friendly and helpful I'll remember it for when I return to Paris and going to a performance at the Bastille

Friendly reception staff. Excellent breakfast. Comfortable bed. Room, especially carpet, tired and in need of renovation. Shower screen grubby
