The hotel is just a 3-minute walk from the Lido vaporetto terminal, making it very convenient for exploring Venice. The location is excellent and close to transportation, restaurants, and other amenities. By Italian standards, the hotel is reasonable, but travelers accustomed to North American hotels may find it below expectations. The beds are basic but comfortable enough for a good night's sleep. The bathroom was clean but very small and dated. In fact, the entire property feels as though it hasn't been updated in decades. We stayed in a quadruple room with one queen bed and two cots. The room felt cramped, although it had two windows. The air conditioning worked reasonably well and kept the room comfortable at about 21°C despite outside temperatures reaching 34°C. The breakfast was the highlight of our stay. The selection and quality exceeded expectations and was one of the best parts of the experience. Checkout is at 10:30 a.m., which is earlier than most hotels. Luggage storage is available, but the storage room is not secure, as anyone can walk in and access stored bags. The lobby furniture is also very dated and adds to the overall tired appearance of the hotel. Overall, this is a reasonably priced hotel in a great location. While the rooms and common areas could use modernization, the excellent breakfast and convenient location make it a decent option for travelers prioritizing value over luxury.

Breakfast was good. Lido area is lovely and quiet but it takes extra time to get there. Hotel is old and tired; needs updating.

Staff are great (even the grumpy one!). Yes, it's dated and probably a lightbulb will need changing or the batteries in the remote don't work, but rooms are spotless, reception was there even when I arrived near midnight, the location is brilliant close enough to the vaporetto and all the restaurants etc but on a very pretty, quiet street. Breakfast is very good - great cake! - and can be eaten in or outside on the terrace - though I don't love the coffee machine. Tip: single travellers, do yourselves a favour and book a double room.

Situated in a Quiet residential area , close to restaurants , vaporetta and shops . Small outside seating area but bar appeared to be closed . Room dated but otherwise as expected

We found Hotel Rigel to be an excellent choice for our 5 nights. The hotel is just a 5 minute walk from the waterbus stop on Lido on a quiet road. Our room was comfortable and very clean with some interesting touches of Venetian style. As promised by the reviews, the breakfast was a generous spread of fresh fruit, cold meats, cheese, rolls, croissants, cereals, nuts, eggs, salad and a tempting array of biscuits, cake and tarts. The hotel does not have its own restaurant but there are several close by and because the Lido is mostly residential you get a more authentic Venetian experience.There is also the bonus of seeing Venice surrounded by snowcapped mountains...magical. Get ab ACTV pass and you are sorted.

The room I had was kept amazingly clean and the cleaning staff was so attentive and friendly. They definitely merged well with the rest of the stay in terms of making me feel welcome and comfortable at the hotel

The rooms were kept very clean and tidy and the staff have been incredibly friendly and delivered fantastic service

Las habitaciones muy limpias, los empleados muy amables. Los desayunos muy buenos, lo unico negativo cuando sacabas la tarjeta de abrir la puerta y la luz para salir del cuarto, el refrigerador se apagaba y por poco pierdo todas las medicinas que necesitaban refrigeracion, hable con la administracion y me dejaron la luz por los dias que estube, otra cosa por un refresco de coca cola del bar cargaron 6 euros.
