Great view of the Nile if you book the front view. . A little too uhm oversolicitous by staff. Security was so over the top it gave me willys at times. Of course all of Egypt is like that. Armed guys everywhere you go as a tourist. Creepy. Traffic is OMG. I suspect other Fairmonts are normal that way.

Once in the lobby it is very impressive. It appears that the driving ramp to the lobby level is under renovation so one has to enter one floor below which is not impressive.
Staff and services are high quality. We did not go to any of the restaurants in the hotel. Zaza restaurant across the street on the banks of the Nile had great food.
