This was an amazing place to stay! The staff were friendly, the beds were very comfortable and the shower was great! All in all we could not fault our experience. It was very central to all our needs. We would definitely stay here again. ❤️

This was not our first time here but it will be our last. The check in experience was slow and impersonal and the young man who checked us in was scruffy, glum and detached and lacked interpersonal skills. Our room was freezing cold and we had also requested a parking spot at the time of booking. We were told that we hadn’t done this. Yet in our notes in our booking it was clear. Yet, the scruffy man argued the point regardless of being shown it in our booking. The room was clean. We did try to get a drink at 2.50 pm but licensing prevented this as the school is next door. We went down the road to a nice beer garden. Something has changed about the Convent in our last couple of stays. We cant quite work out on what it is but we have decided we will look at alternative stays in future.

Loved the free parking so reserve that on booking, the restaurant has delicious food but not for hungry children style place. The Staff were helpful and kind. Its a lovely quirky boutique style place in a very good location.

Room was very small compared with other stay for the same $$$ The other stays had a kitchen & microwave etc …. Parking was great & staff were good. Restaurant in this complex was lovely.

No elevator 😩

The room we stayed in was tiny; a bit like a Paris hotel bedroom in size. Parking was good. It is at the rear of the property and felt secluded. Unfortunately the restaurant and bar were closed the night we stayed which made for a dull lifeless atmosphere in the hotel. I would be inclined to stay here again because the building is interesting, but I'd take a larger room and would check to see if the restaurant was open.

our small group had loved staying at the convent hotel. the rooms had personal touches and the public areas - hotel bar, hallways, stairways had an eclectic mix of artwork. comfortable beds. great amenities. and an awesome "chef's selection" group dinner at their onsite restaurant - ada, which was a memorable highlight for most of us during our 12 day visit in new zealand. will love to return one day!

Lovely friendly staff. Room spotless. Very comfortable bedding. Loved the historic building and how it’s been lovingly cared for and enhanced with the thoughtful decor. A special little hotel away from the city centre but close enough to enjoy it.

Hotel has a lot of charm and restaurant is great.
