Veer away from the usual beach activities and spend a relaxing day with the majestic elephants of Ngapali and among the local Rakhine people. Your guide will pick you up from your hotel early morning and bring you to Tha Lin, a traditional village located in a lush valley, for a glimpse of the daily life of locals. From the village, a short boat trip along the Thandwe River will bring you to the elephant camp where you’ll get a chance to bond with these gentle giants. An attendant will guide you on how to properly feed and give baths to the elephants. You can also experience a serene walk with them through the beautiful forest. Elephants are among the most intelligent animals with whom we share the planet and tourists are definitely discouraged from riding them. After enjoying your time with the elephants, you’ll then proceed to another local village to partake of a traditional Rakhine lunch before heading back to your hotel.
