Our stay was for 4 nights. It was nice to have b/f each day. Would have been nice that hosts offered hard boiled eggs and maybe croissants on at least one of our mornings. Coffee was excellent. The room was quite small for this long of duration. We like a hard bed and found this one quite soft. Loved the big windows! Free parking on the side of property and great location for our needs.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Designer Cottage. It’s a great, convenient location, walkable to dining options and shopping. We especially enjoyed discussions with new friends around the breakfast table, which our hosts did a great job preparing.

What a wonderful stay! Both our hosts Steve and Chet were super helpful and friendly and made us feel completely relaxed. The old house has so much character, and the gardens were a real drawcard too.
The house isn’t right in the city centre, but it is so easy to get around and everything is very close. We loved the quiet location with easy parking. It only took as a few minutes to get into the CBD.
Steve and Chet have gone to a lot of effort with providing a map with all the highlights marked on it and even have further information such as restaurant and cafe recommendations on their website.
The whole stay with them was great. I’d go back again in a heartbeat.
It feels like visiting old friends, except that friends don’t go to this much effort to serve you such a great breakfast 😁

Friendly and welcoming host. Very accommodating and good at providing interesting things to see and do in the area. Lovely, peaceful garden perfect for relaxing after a full day exploring Christchurch. All in all, a great place to stay while visiting Christchurch.

Enjoyed the stay. The owners were good with information about christchurch. Bath was nice. A few more room details ie. Water jug and glass would be appreciated. The social breakfast was a highlight. Recommend

Great stay overall, very comfortable, enjoyed the social breakfasts, Chet and Steve were very hospitable and full of knowledge about the surrounding area, ready and willing to answer any questions and give suggestions for things to do.
