(Sri Chumphon Hotel)

The location of this hotel is ideal if wanting to travel to or from Chumphon train station (you can also book bus and boat tickets near the station), however, the hotel doesn't have much else going for it. It is a large, old fashioned, grubby hotel that looks like it hasn't been looked after since the 80's. The halls reminded us of the prison cells you see in the movies! The receptionist wasn't aware of our online booking and offered the room to us a lot cheaper before we told her we had already, annoyingly, paid upfront. There was damp evident on the walls in our room and the bathroom door was rotting away. Our cleaning lady was lovely, although not actually sure what she cleans? The bed, surprisingly, was very comfortable and bottled water is provided daily. There are a few other hotels in the area, not sure if any better, but certainly worth investigating beforehand!
