Breakfast buffet offered plenty of options. Property convenient to shopping and restaurants. Across the street from the castle. Only downside was all the street construction which wasn’t their fault.

Clean room, staff very friendly and happy to help. Lovely onsite restaurant, the food was delicious. Overall for our first stay it was made lovely. We will be back.

The room was nice and spacious but the bathroom looked dated specially the door. We pulled the beds together because we had children with us and where the bed was it was very dirty on the floor we found the an old dried cheeto under the bed which was not pleasant. The amenities were really good we really enjoyed the swimming pool, steam and sauna. Breakfast service was good and we found the staff very friendly and helpful. The views from the room over the castle were also really nice.

We arrived early from overseas flight. Manager front desk told us we were too early, no rooms available. I asked did she want to check, she said no need, she knew. Said she would store our bags. That’s it. I asked for a map, she gave a booklet, said turn left, turn left, turn right.
Much better reception at The Parkgate. Warm welcome, invited us to rest our feet, directions of things to do, 100% stay at The Parkgate. Avoid Hilton Cardiff.

The check is was great the gentleman checked us in early. Room was fine, clean.
We came back to the bar for a drink in the night and it stunk of drains really not nice.
Had an awful sleep. Our room 418 was right by the lift and there was a lot of noise and at one point security was making a noise with someone. Also there was the bar in the street that was very noisy.
Used the gym and it was 26 degrees no air con but well equipped.
Check out, met with some patronising staff who really need to read the room! Very insincere will definitely go back to the parkgate as it is excellent there. Only tried Hilton for a change
