By not having cars or trucks on the property, it was very peaceful and quiet. The "inside out" design of the resort with its white adobe brick walls, the mangrove forest, and the lush vegetation everywhere made me feel that I was surrounded by the natural world of this former presidential retreat.
The spa was by far the best spa I have ever been to, and I'm 78 years old, so I've been to many over the years. Starting with the hydrotherapy treatment was pure relaxation, and the Mayan massage was heavenly. My daughter and I spent 5 hours that afternoon immersed in a complete body treatment.
The breakfast buffet was extraordinary in its selections from fresh fruits to personalized omelets to Mexican specialities.

Acabamos de regresar de nuestra estancia el pasado mayo, y una vez más este hotel superó todas nuestras expectativas. Este fue nuestro cuarto año consecutivo visitándolo, y puedo decir con toda honestidad que nunca nos ha decepcionado.
Aunque se trata de un resort de lujo cinco estrellas, mantiene la atención personalizada y el ambiente cálido de un hotel boutique. Desde el momento en que llegas, todos parecen conocerte por tu nombre y están genuinamente interesados en hacer que tu experiencia sea perfecta. Siempre hay alguien dispuesto a ayudar y a encontrar maneras de hacer tu estancia aún más especial.
Quiero reconocer especialmente a Juan Pablo en recepción, quien nos atendió con una amabilidad y profesionalismo excepcionales. Nos hizo sentir como en familia desde el primer momento. También recibimos una excelente atención de Adalith y Montserrat, nos brindaron un servicio impecable.
La oferta gastronómica es extraordinaria. La Punta continúa siendo mi restaurante favorito dentro del resort. Su ubicación frente al mar, inspirada en una tradicional trajinera, está llena de detalles hermosos y crea una atmósfera única. La comida fue excelente.. Indochin sigue siendo nuestro segundo favorito. El pato que sirven ahí es simplemente espectacular; sinceramente, es uno de los mejores que he probado en cualquier parte del mundo.
Todo el hotel es una experiencia única. Super recomendado. Gracias a todos!

They need to do better with maintenance Air con didn’t work right and we had no hot water. They were understaffed and made us wait for golf carts too long. They need benches there if they are going to make guests wait that long. They need coffee and tea (free) for guests that leave before 7am in the lobby. Also why do their swimming pool bars close an hour or two before the sun goes down!? People want to see the sunset at their infinity pool but they stop serving drinks at 6pm and stop giving you towels to use the pool literally in broad daylight. Make it make sense!? Are they they thinking about what is convenient for them and things that make their jobs easier or are they wanting to provide great service to their guests? Very disappointing for a hotel I used to love.

Disaster — we left the same day we checked in...
We have stayed at Nizuc several times before and always considered it an excellent vacation hotel, which makes this experience especially disappointing.
After checking in, we changed and went down to the pool and beach area, only to find active construction taking place directly over and around the resort’s main pool and beach areas. There were cranes swinging over the pool area, workers in hard hats, and constant loud drilling and banging.
This was not a minor inconvenience. It completely ruined the luxury, peaceful atmosphere we came for. After trying to tolerate it for an hour or two, we went to the front desk, asked to check out, and left for another hotel.
What is most frustrating is that this major disruption was not disclosed before our arrival, and now the hotel is giving us a hard time over the refund.
For a resort at this level and price point, this was unacceptable. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Nizuc at this time.
