I visit Chennai annually and first 3-4 nights at local hotels. The Hanu Reddy Residence at Poes Garden is definitely a cut above in the price range. The staff was super courteous, responding immediately to my needs. The room was spacious, the bed was firm and comfortable and the bathroom was very clean, all the fixtures were like new and the shower was a luxury! The AC was quiet and worked reliably. Hanu Reddy Residence at Poes Garden is hidden treasure and a well kept secret. I plan to make all my future stays to HRR.

Very small room congested with small bed not good for two persons. Dirty wall bathroom flooding with water poor staff training

The setting is lovely, situated in a quiet tree-lined neighbourhood. The dining area is nice, with a variety of reasonably priced meals. Staff were good, and very helpful. However, I would not consider it a luxury hotel. Rooms are outdated and fixtures are old. The towels provided were threadbare. I used the 2 teabags and they were not replenished. The biggest issue was the abundance of mosquitoes in my room. Although there was a mosquito zapper, it only worked when the room was occupied. In the mornings I'd wake to several dead mosquitos, but there would still be many circulating constantly. I had to sleep with my head under the sheet. When my visit came to an end, I left the hotel covered in mosquito bites.

This is my 4th time here. Love the place, very quiet and the staff is always smiling and helpful. Rooms are big and clean and the food is amazing

What stands out is that the service provided by the staff is simply outstanding. I knew about Reddy family. Each family member had breakfast with me and my wife. They have many repeat customers who stay for 2 to 3 months at a time. Location is central.

The bed was very hard and you could feel the springs. The bathroom smelled bad and had mold on the door.

The room was good. The BF was good too. Close to the US Consulate in Chennai

Very calm and peaceful place to stay.
