I didn't like the noise from the street or in front of the hotel. My room faced the street and was on the 2nd floor. I would not stay on that side again. I liked it was it was right next door to Stanley Park and that was fabulous

Great location next to Stanley Park.

Lovely old, heritage hotel close to the seawall. Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Check -in and out was easy. Interesting history told in photographs throughout the hotel, including that of a resident cat. Would stay here again.

This is a heritage hotel. You won't find too many fancy amenities nor giant spaces. But the beds are great, the bathrooms are fine, the staff is lovely, the restaurant and bar are excellent and excellent value. And if you like English Bay and Stanley Park and West Van, the location is fantastic. The wonderful look of the spaces, with old photographs and preserved details like the old mail/key cubby holes at the front desk and details of the elevators will enchant you.

Always a great place to stay in downtown Vancouver. Perfect location to visit the beach and easy access to restaurants and the sights of the city.

Old world charm with decent sized room. The area was quiet. The restaurant on site provided room service. The food was good.

This was my first stay at the Sylvia, and it was an incredible experience from beginning to end. The building itself is stunning, with its iconic Boston ivy-covered exterior, and the moment you step inside, you're surrounded by history, charm, and character. Its location couldn't be better. Situated directly across from English Bay, it's the perfect place to wander the beach, watch breathtaking sunsets, or take a leisurely walk to Stanley Park. Restaurants, cafés, and so much of Vancouver are within easy walking distance. The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the staff genuinely made me feel welcome throughout my stay. After years of visiting Vancouver, I found myself wondering why I hadn't stayed at the Sylvia sooner. It has quickly become one of my favorite places to stay, and I will absolutely be back.
