超赞 Everything about this ryokan surpasses description. It is family run, and the check in process was extremely efficient. The family was very responsive and friendly. The Onsen was the PERFECT temperature and absolutely clean, as were the rooms. There was a hot kettle for green tea in the room as soon as we arrived. They helped us do laundry (the drier is a bit weak, but overnight clothes dried fine in the room), figure out the heating, and fed us the BEST breakfast the next morning. I would strongly recommend this place to anyone staying in Takayama!

The rooms were clean and staff were very helpful and kind. Convenient location. Didn’t like the mixed shared toilet as would stink at times. Laundry available which was so helpful

It is only a place to sleep nothing else. It is a little hard to climb stairs and does not suit to people over 50 years old. In Takayama city there are not restaurants to serve breakfast and this property does not provide anything else that good morning and sayonara.

The hotel is a short 3.5 block walk from the Takayama JR Train Station, and a very reasonable walk to most of the local sights. If your feet start wearing out, it's a short 3 block walk to the bus station where you can catch the circle route city bus that stops at/near all the local attractions, and one that goes to the Hida village museum.
The family that runs the hotel is very friendly, and they keep the establishment very clean and tidy. The public bathing facilities are very nice and relaxing after a long day of exploring.
