I was pleasantly surprised by this property. The rooms were very clean, the beds comfortable and they provided toiletries and other basics that seem to be gone from similar hotels. The area around the hotel is very walkable and there are plenty of dining options within a couple of blocks. The hotel is close to Termini and the surrounding area was no different than that in other large cities. The staff was very helpful. There was a rooftop bar that we visited daily. Drinks were good and the servers friendly. The only minor negative was the size of the room. It wasn’t small, would’ve just preferred something slightly roomier for our oversized luggage.

Hotel Universo was an excellent choice for us arriving from Fiumicino Airport in the afternoon, waiting to catch our morning train to Sicily the next day. It is an easy and short walk to and from Roma Termini. The staff were professional and friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable and their fabulous rooftop bar was a wonderful place to grab a thirst quenching cocktail after a long international flight.

The hotel staff were very nice and friendly. The rooms were clean with modern amenities and also very quiet (as they were facing the smaller side street). Had some concerns about staying near the Termini area, but never felt unsafe walking around the vicinity of the hotel for food, gelatos, visiting shops, etc even at late night as there were many tourists in the area.

Very nice place to stay, easily centered for walking to many sights. Staff was very friendly and enjoyed our stay.

Place was excellent. Room was a reasonable size and easy to move around in. Shower/tub was small but larger than other European arrangements I've stayed in. Over charged for breakfast but there are better places outside so it wasn't an issue.

I already reccomended to all my friends. Really was a surprise, I used to work near by for several years and never knew about it. Loved it!.

Property was very clean and well maintained, staff were very friendly. The rooftop bar served wonderful food and drinks.

The hotel was in a convenient location within walking distance to many attractions (20 minutes to Trevi Fountain, The Spanish Steps, the Pantheon, & the Colosseum) restaurants, and the train station (5 minutes). The staff at the front desk and in the restaurants are very friendly and helpful. The only glitch we had was when we arrived at the airport, the transfer we booked through the hotel was not there. After calling the hotel, the driver arrived about 45 minutes later. I would suggest booking through a ride share or private car service. The amenities at the hotel are convenient. We ate at the breakfast buffet every morning and had dinner at the rooftop restaurant one night. Both places were clean and the food selections were good and reasonably priced. The buffet had a big selection of pastries, pancakes, waffles, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals, breads, potatoes, meats, rice, salad, juice, coffee, lattes, cappuccinos, and eggs to order. One morning we had to catch an early train, so the staff put together a “to go” breakfast for us. It contained juice, muffins, fruit, and many more breakfast items. The rooms were comfortable and roomy. We had a balcony room, and it was nice to sit out there in the evening after a day of exploring the city. I would absolutely recommend this hotel when staying in Rome.

Love everything about this hotel. Walkable to almost everything we wanted to see. Very comfortable room and even had a hairdryer and washcloths. We needed an iron and they brought it to our room immediately! Wonderful and helpful staff. relaxing balconies. Very clean room with a stocked fridge.
