Nice hotel, close to city center , excellent breakfast and nice and friendly staff.

Great location - walking distance to the main railway station and Metro but a Very corporate hotel much more suited to business stays so not the best experience for us for a number of reasons. Check in took ages and I was charged again for a pre-paid reservation which then took another visit and another 10 minutes to resolve (i think it was resolved - will be checking my CC as it was all a bit vague). They don't clean the rooms until day 3 (you can ask we discovered) - that's OK but would have expected more from a hotel at this price point and * rating. Certainly replacing towels given there is no heated towel rail so using damp towels is not great. Also no replacement tea/coffee felt a bit penny pinching. Breakfast was OK but I wouldn't say brilliant. For starters trying to get a seat in the Canteen like breakfast room was a challenge - too many tables for 6 and 8 which may work for midweek conferences but didn't feel right for a weekend leisure stay. Seemed to always be out of milk. You have to pay extra for anything except filter coffee. And closing time means closing time - everything is whisked away on the dot and you feel pressured to get out. Our Superior Room was nice but a king bed was 2 singles and 2 duvets so again not quite what we had in mind for a romantic leisure trip.

I had a medical emergency and had a non refundable room and asked if I can swap my stay with a date in April 4 days before my arrival and they refused which is their legal right. I do not think it is fair and will never stay there with this sort of experience.

Hotel is kept really well, very clean rooms. Really good breakfast with a huge variety of food. Staff at check in were very polite and helpful. Great pool and saunas (although male and female saunas are separate!) Great location, making it very easy to explore Helsinki.

Everything was great room clean, tasty breakfast, good location

Arrived. Lobby quiet. 3 staff on reception. On approaching the desk, we were told to go back and get a numbered queung ticket or they wouldnt check us in. And there was no que. Welcoming? No! Outrageous behaviour. Coloured the rest of the stay in an otherwise ok hotel. Having said which not a smile from any staff. And they try to upsell you dressing gowns, slippers, late Checkin etc. Too hard. Too commercial. Too soulless. Pity. Nice building.

Positive points- excellent location, clean, comfortable, competitive pricing, small but well equipped gym. Negative points- breakfast hall like a school canteen, tables crammed together, food poor. Swimming pool (and sauna) only open mornings till 10 am and evenings 5-9.30, receptionist could not explain why (we understand about the sauna). Broken light in room not fixed during our stay and took 2 days to get lamp.

Great variety of food and lovely service.

After a bad experience having to check out early at another hotel, we found Hotel Presidentii, which was great. Big hotel but the rooms are quiet and clean. The bathroom has a heated floor which is a nice feature. BreaBreakfast

Everyone were very nice and friendly and I really appreciated how the staff made an effort to speak Swedish with me. :) One strange thing though was how the people in the bar first ignored us and then later told us to go somewhere else as the bar closed at 22(?) instead of informing us that there was a self service bar in the lobby.
