We only stayed one night en route to our holiday. Ideal stopover.

Pleasant helpful staff Plentyof parking Excellent meals Great position Rooms are a little on the small side No lifts

The property is very tired looking. The hot water took a long time to come through and the shower was slow. The bed was not made properly, the duvet was just pulled up and not even neatly. The edge of the duvet was resting on the bedside cabinet rather than being tucked down.

I liked everything about this hotel. The room was spacious and as well as having loads of cupboard and drawer space it had two armchairs (a rarity these days, in my experience), hair dryer, ironing board and iron. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was also a good size with plenty of shelf space for spreading out toiletries, good lighting for shaving, and (also a rarity) simple basin taps that did not require lengthy experimentation to work out how to get hot water. The shower was also very satisfactory. I liked the fact that the room was thoroughly serviced during the day including replenishing the biscuits :) On my first morning I had the continental breakfast including croissants that were most acceptable, and I appreciated the fact that the cold cabinet offered various non-dairy milk options. On the second morning I tried the cooked breakfast and found that excellent. The swimming pool is a reasonable size, perfectly good for putting in a few lengths for exercise. The hotel's decor might be too plain for some people's taste but the establishment is well-maintained and managed, and all the staff are friendly and helpful. There was plenty of parking, much of it under shade trees (thankfully, because the weather was sunny and hot). I was attending the fringe festival in the town and delighted to find that the walk into the centre was only 15 minutes on a quiet road so I was spared the hassle of finding parking. All in all a great experience. I'll be back.

Excellent breakfast Staff all very helpful. Room fine however the dust on top of the wardrobe was really thick. The room was quite small so we put our bag on top of the wardrobe. Also the bathroom extractor was caked in thick dust. Hoover on both 30 second job.

Breakfast was very good. A bit more communication when facilities such as areas of parking/swimming pool are unavailable would be appreciated. The swimming pool was closed I suspect for repair no apology and an area of car park nearest reception was closed off for an evening function Both unavoidable but no apology for the inconvenience caused.

Room next to swimming pool always feels nice. Had a good time swimming and sauna. Family Room was spacious. Cooked Breakfast could have been better.

Great room and breakfasts the staff were really lovely and helpful

Really dated and tierd but staff making best of what they have. We visited in a heatwave so perhaps not a true reflection but was stifling. No air con. A small broken (span but didnt move side to side)fan provided that pushed the warm air around and the next morning fans had been put in the corridor. Reception staff friendly and welcoming. Breakfast staff a bit abrupt but again perhaps the heat! We booked for a short stay and the surrounding countryside and shaftesbury Town are lovely. The hotel is situated on the main road although still quiet and lovely garden etc. Gpod location for the town etc Unfortunately the pool area is not nice. Changing rooms really dirty and the pool water really cloudy and murky- the main reason we chose the hotel was for the pool. All in all was fine for an overnight stay and room was clean. Just a bit old fashioned and dated for us and the pool area need some attention

The reception area does look a little tired but our room was clean and looked as if it had been recently decorated. The carpet was clean and fresh, as was the bathroom. Breakfast was lovely and had everything we wanted. We would definitely consider staying again if we were in the area.
