This was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had. We arrived, anticipating an attractive and heated pool. We discovered a very dirty, shabby out of date pool that was cold. After much communication with Expedia, the owners of the hotel turned up the temperature on the pool. Unfortunately, because the hotel was listed as a four-star hotel, but was maybe at least a 2 1/2 star or three star hotel, we decided to go somewhere else. The pool was too small to in fact, be usable, despite very misleading photos. Even though we were very unhappy and agreed to pay for the two out of the four nights, the owners refused to refund any the remaining two nights we had paid for. The photos of the hotel and the Expedia ratings are both very misleading. If one was expecting a 2 to 3 star hotel that was pretty rundown but not unpleasant. This would be OK. Unfortunately, that’s not what the ratings or the photos led us to expect.

Fantastic central location in short walking distance to everything inc marina, shops, restaurants, Four Mile Beach, coast walk. Large unit space made our 12 night stay very comfortable. Our room was located above a cafe but thankfully very quiet at night: Red Kitchen is a great cafe and convenient for breakfast or lunch, but a pity we didn't know about the 10% guest discount until our last day! Parking in the hotel car park is very limited so when full, we managed to always find parking on the street outside the accommodation. Sink plug in kitchen needs replacing (no seal) and plug in bathroom sink doesn't work so shaving means running a tap. Couldn't hear other guests which was great. Loved the balcony and the swimming pool. A very easy, relaxed stay with great amenity and efficient service.

Centrally located, walking distance from the shops, cafes and the marina. Spacious room with a sunny balcony with a cafe downstrairs. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. I had a nice and relaxing stay. I loved staying at an adults only hotel knowing I can sit in peace by the pool and relax while reading a book. I’ll definitely consider staying here next time I visit Port Douglas.

Great communication in lead up to our overnight visit. Parking easy under building or street. Could easily imagine having more time here…kitchen, lounge and balcony, pool and easy access to shops, food and attractions. Just mindful that there is no lift and stairs required to rooms. Would stay again!

Great stay in a very affordable appartment in the heart of Port Douglas. Conny is a very attentive host, and she did her very best to accommodate our needs. The pool is not very big but set in a fabulous tropical setting, very refreshing any time of the day. We felt at home and will keep a found memory of our stay in Le Cher du Monde.

Everything you needed was in the apartment. Close to everything
