Rooms are quite old, in a dire need of renovation - stepping into the room felt like stepping into the 1980s.
The worst part was the service - front desk staff were rude, and could use some basic training in hospitality.

The property had an amazing view of the mountains. The location is great as well. Breakfast had lots of options and did change a bit daily so we were not bored.
The staff were a bit indifferent and housekeeping was bare minimum.

满意 Reasonable hotel option.
Pros: Building nice, rooms clean and comfortable though on the smaller side. Breakfast was terrific.
Cons: no gym or fitness centre. Pool wasn't open in May 2026. The Barfly bar requires a 25000 KZT minimum tab for Friday and Saturday nights. Prohibitive if you're a solo traveller and want to have a (overpriced) beer up in the bar.

Wow! L'hôtel emblématique d'Almaty ne nous a vraiment pas déçu! Idéalement situé, énorme buffet déjeuner qui répondra à toutes les attentes, grand, propre, vue incroyable sur les montagnes! C'est une expérience en soi! Avez-vous vraiment visité Almaty si vous n'avez pas séjourné à l'hôtel Kazakhstan?

Perfect location, excellent breakfast but the room really needs to be renovated. The lobby looks new and modern but definitely not the rest. Bed was comfortable but there's no power socket near the bed and everything is very old.
