Booked the Novotel - no reservation found upon arrival. Moved to Mercure after 10mins of discussions and calls as they could see the reservation was valid and blamed a new reservations system for the issue. Mercure sink has previous occupants toothpaste visible in the inside, under bed had dirty tissue and ear plug. No one bothered to ask how our stay was upon check-out. Not impressed

The hotel is on the outskirts of Aix. Around a 40 minute walk, mainly uphill, to the centre. However, it is near to the Krypton park and ride where you can catch shuttle bus A into the centre. Just use a credit card to tap on when you board.
The hotel has a motel feel about it with dated rooms down long corridors. An empty fridge, save a single bottle of complementary water awaits you, which is useful for chilling your own choice of drinks.
The pool is small but pleasant and sits to the side of a pleasant courtyard. Towels for the pool are available from reception.
The staff were all excellent.
