Enjoyed out time at the hotel

We had a great experience at this hotel. The English breakfast was better than expected, and the service was quick and friendly. It's an older building, so of course rooms are a little small, but totally adequate. It was nice that each room has a small oscillating fan, which we used each night. We stayed in a family room and didn't realize that it would essentially be two rooms somewhat joined. It might be tricky with very small children. You'd want to maybe prop the doors open between the two rooms. It was perfect for us, as we were traveling with our adult son. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful, and the location couldn't be any better. You're just steps away from a variety of restaurants and such a short walk to Paddington Station.

Stayed at this hotel post transatlantic cruise from NYC. Here is my experience: 1. Hotel is in a central location - Paddington train station is a short walk and getting to London Heathrow is a breeze. Kensington park and the various museums nearby (e.g. Serpentine Gallery) is about a 10-15 minute walk. 2. Rooms are not huge but it is comfortable enough for 2 people, sleeping in 2 separate beds. I was confused with the bathroom shampoo and soap - both were labelled "shampoo"?. Luckily, the weather was NOT too hot so the small fan provided was enough to keep the air flowing. Also, our room has 2 big windows on each side so the air flow is good. Not sure why there is no bath mat in the bathroom so we used one of the towels as bath mat. There is no glass either for brushing teeth. 3. There is a lack of outlets to plug laptops or telephones. We were able to borrow one converter so we have to take turn using it. 4. Because of its location, there is plenty of places to eat and buy food. Outside the train station is a big Sainsbury if you want to watch your budget and not pay 5 GBP for soda that you can buy for 2 GBP. 5. My flight was cancelled due to the storm/flooding in NYC and then Trump's attack on Iran (war he won 1 million x over). I stayed for another night and moved to a single room. Room #408 was excellent for me - spacious and well laid out. I will request this same room next time. 6. Reception was very accommodating and there is one lady who was very kind

Staff was very friendly and willing to help when I had difficult travel situation not related to the hotel. I will come back

Lovely, but very small room, no AC. great location, helpful staff.

The only thing is was really hot at the time we stay at the hotel and they don’t have big fans we open the windows that was so helpful because the breeze was coming really nice

The Mitre House was a great stay after a long trip, the rooms were nice and cozy and the beds more than comfortable. I wanted to try good local pubs, and find useful amenities around Paddington and they gave me terrific and helpful tips! Being centrally located in Paddington as well, traveling to Heathrow was a breeze with just a short walk behind the hotel. The complimentary breakfasts were more than filling too, the full English was enough to keep me going on a full day trip to Liverpool! Of all the places to rest in London, I would be more than happy to go back to the Mitre House again.

This is an older hotel in a perfect location for access to the tube and very close to Hyde Park. Many restaurants very close by. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. We stayed in a suite so our room was a good size with a small sitting room and separated bedroom. The bathroom had a tub and shower. The queen bed was comfortable. There is no AC but there is a fan to help cool the room. The place itself could use a refreshment (bedding, drapes, carpet) but overall good value as this is an expensive part of the city. The breakfast was plentiful and good. Breakfast staff were lovely.

It was in a great location, the staff were very helpful, and the hotel was very clean. The rooms were extremely small and the small fan did not adequately. Keep the room comfortable in hot temperatures.

Nice convenient hotel, close to everything and train station's. Only downside was bathroom could use an upgrade, no fan and felt like a sauna.
