Good location on the river and close to the city though there are many stairs to climb. Breakfast and evening meals were tasty and good value. Carpark access is via an external small lift.

Pre booked breakfast but at dining room door told we hadn’t paid for it on several occasions when we had paid previous night, quite embarrassing in front of other guests. Bedroom-clean, very roomy, just recently redecorated but shocking sour/dirty mop smell from bathroom.

Room was very clean.

Met with a big smile from the receptionist who was quite happy to chat about why we were staying there. Good sized room with a great view of the River Tyne/Gateshead and a bath/shower combo although the bath was too low for me to use. Nice food and with a 20% discount it made it very competitively priced.

This hotel never disappoints, many stays over many years; great location by the Tyne.

Excellent staff as always here. The hotel is a little dated in the bathrooms but the views make up for that short coming .
