Our experience at Mayan Monkey Isla Mujeres was disappointing. We were told check-in started at 3:00 PM, so we arrived at that time. Unfortunately, the lobby clerk was rude and unhelpful during the check-in process. We had specifically booked a Jungle Private Room with Terrace, but staff attempted to place us in a standard room while claiming it was an upgrade. It was not the room category we reserved. The poor communication and the attempt to downgrade our reservation left a very negative first impression. Because of this experience, we decided to leave and check into a different resort instead. The one positive aspect was the bar area staff. They provided excellent service and were friendly and attentive throughout our brief stay. Based on our experience, I recommend confirming your room type before arrival and verifying that you receive exactly what you booked.

Such a beautiful hidden gem. Everything was 10/10 except no hot water for shower

Did not have warm warm water for most of the stay Bar staff was not helpful when needing towels, drinks etc Beach was ok Restaurant staff was great Front counter staff was great Room was spacious Air conditioning was great Property was supposed to be adults only but there were kids on some days

Mosquitoes everywhere, had to leave 1 day before the checkout

The AC worked ok , the food wasnt very good, service was very slow, but they were friendly, beach area was ok but very small

Breakfast area was so nice with a view of the beach. Staff was super nice. The room in the jungle had a great jungle vibe. Will definitely book again.

We stayed in the jungle room. Shower spayed the ceiling and water everywhere. No fridge, TV, closet. Pretty basic!

I booked through Expedia and paid in full or so I thought. At check-in I'm told there is a environmental fee right then. Nothing about that was listed on the website about this additional. I don't like being taken advantage of and I think everyone who checks in here is. If it's a legit fee why not have it in your booking or forewarn of it in the listing? As for the room it was big and air conditioned. The water in the sink and shower is salty due to it being right on the beach. And the toilet only flushed half the time.
