This was the hotel that I was most looking forward on our trip to Japan and unfortunately the most disappointing. When we initially arrived, we found the staff not extremely friendly.

Great experience overall

We chose Hanz Outdoor Resort for the Mt Fuji glamping experience and the private BBQ facilities heavily featured in its advertising. The accommodation itself was beautiful, but our stay was overshadowed by poor communication, inconsistent pricing, and unclear policies. Our tent was stunning, clean, comfortable, and well equipped. The bathroom was excellent and staff were friendly on arrival. Unfortunately, confusion started almost immediately. When arranging a taxi back to the station, we were quoted different prices by staff, and the final fare was different again. This became a recurring theme throughout our stay. We also paid for what was advertised as a buffet breakfast, but it was actually a few slices of bread, ham, cheese, fruit, lettuce, and orange juice. It was fine, but not what we expected. The biggest issue involved the BBQ. After buying groceries to cook dinner, we asked for charcoal and received multiple different prices. We were then told it would cost 11,000 yen to cook our own food on the private BBQ because outside food was not allowed. This policy had never been mentioned during booking, check-in, or the resort tour despite the BBQ being a major selling point. After a lengthy discussion, the fee was reduced. The facilities and location were excellent, but the lack of clear communication and constantly changing information significantly affected our experience. I strongly recommend confirming all costs, BBQ rules and activities.

A very good option for city dwellers who want to experience camping in the forest without the hassel of bringing all the equipment. The forest is beautiful.

The camping site is located in the woods; very nice and quiet. However, it is a little far away from the train station. Bus is not frequent so the best way is to take Taxi.

I loved this campsite I wish I could have stayed more days. The staff was so kind. I switched villa rooms twice because I was scared of climbing up ladder with the loft. And they changed me to the room with stairs. The breakfast was amazing. I wish I had more time to enjoy all the hikes and activities before going to Kyoto but I would visit again.

Couldn’t ask for a better place to view Mt Fuji. We could see it whilst having breakfast. This place is unique in it’s set up with a glamping option & a villa option. We chose the comfort of the villa which was spacious, cosy with great amenities. There was a huge jacuzzi & large dining area in the villa. The grounds were well landscaped with the cherry on the cake being the view of Mt Fuji. We were lucky enough to see it clearly on our 2nd day there. The staff were friendly & helpful. Breakfast was interesting as we cooked part of our own meal with other options available on the buffet table. The freshly squeezed orange juice was the best ever & plentiful. Would highly recommend everyone to include breakfast in their stay. There were 2 new baby goats on the premises who entertained with their delightful antics. This was a comfortable, rustic stay which was unique & wonderful. Having a car makes it more accessible.

Clean room with clear instructions on appliances and amenities to get the most of our stay.

The stay at this place was an enjoyable and memorable experience. The location is a bit far from the attractions but with a car it is not an issue. I am not sure if there is a shuttle service. We had half board and the dinner experience was amazing.

Mountain View was beyond amazing. This was our first time clamping and the experience was unforgettable. A night in the outdoors in the middle of a busy vacation was so serene.
