A charming historical inn and hospitable hosts with great location, my partner was so reluctant to leave.

The staff was very friendly and helpful - they even helped park our car. The hotel is in an excellent location. Even though it is a traditional Japanese hotel it had AC which was a huge plus.

The location was great for the train station and sites. Everyone was helpful and kind.

Great experience, beautiful old building and incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Perfectly located on Nakamachi-dori and close to all attractions, including Matsumoto Castle, and plenty of amazing food nearby. A memorable and unique, but all too brief stay, definitely one of the hilights of my time in Matsumoto.

The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and made us feel right at home. Beds were very comfortable. Would highly recommend for a traditional Japanese Inn experience.

Wonderful location and beautifully renovated older building on an interesting historical street near the river. Friendly, relaxing and aesthetically pleasing.

We really enjoyed our stay in Matsumoto - the hotel was lovely and authentic. I love sleeping on a futon and really loved the aesthetic of the room and the hotel. One thing, if you're older like us, you might want to make sure you can get up and down off of the floor easily before booking.

We loved everything about our stay. The room was comfortable, the house charming, the shower excellent and most of all, we loved and appreciated the welcoming and helpful hosts.

Lots of shops and dining close by just be aware of closing days
