The view is unbelievable, rooms very clean,staff very nice perfect stay for a great holiday

Staying a the Locanda Valeria was delightful. If you're looking to get away from the crowds common to Cinque Terre, this property is your answer. The staff are friendly and the intimate setting allows you to connect with other guests. A complimentary light breakfast is provided everyday from 8:15-9:30. The rooms are clean and comfortable with AC for those who want it. What you need to know is that the property is somewhat isolated so you'll need a plan for getting to/from Vernazza or the other villages. If you have a car, driving to a pay lot (20 euros for all day) is an option but be prepared for narrow winding roads. If you arrive by train, a small bus picks up from the post office in Vernazza and drops off at nearby San Bernardino. From there it's a short walk to the hotel. A taxi can be arranged for 25 euros each way. Your final option is to hike the trail to or from the property to Vernazza. This is a very steep trail with over 1000' in elevation change in less than a half mile and not for the unfit. If you have your transportation worked out, the Locanda Valeria is an opportunity to stay in an incredibly peaceful and stunning setting away from the crowds with a view that is second to none.

This Casa is amazing. The views are stunning all day and night. It is 350m+ up from Vernazza. If you are a hiker, the up and down will satisfy you. And for those who aren't there is a convenient bus with a stop in town at the post office and one for down at San Bernardino ... 10min walk from the stop to the house. There are no restaurants up high ... these are all in the villages. But mini fridges in the room for simple fare. The staff are charming and helpful. Always be prepared to walk if you have no car and always have lots of water with you and proper hiking wear. The down path from the house is hard if you are not an experienced walker or hiker. Poles help immensely. Overall I would come back. Peaceful and remote with relatively easy (ish) access.

The owner, staff, room, facility, and location were all excellent!

Do not take the hiking path that starts from the town of Vernazza, call a taxi to bring your luggage to the top! We made the mistake of bringing our luggage up the hiking path, which took an hour and 1000ft of elevation! Be wary of Google Maps and ask locals for routes. The walk from top to bottom is about 40-50 minutes, and some 10% inclines, but great exercise if you don’t mind the journey! The view alone makes this worth it. Having a cappuccino and breakfast at the top of the mountain in the morning was the highlight of our entire trip in Europe! The owner was so kind and helpful and she offers all guests a 10% discount at their restaurant in one of the towns (I don’t remember the exact town unfortunately). I will be staying here again if I ever come back to Vernazza!

Hotel is in great condition, free breakfast was great and the view is insane and so worth it. Owner is very sweet and helpful. Hotel is on top of a hill so plan on how you are getting up.

it is a very nice place up in the mountain, 45 min walking downhill to vernazza, breakfast could be better, views are spectacular, rooms clean and confortable, owner very nice

Beautiful serene location. Magnificent view. Very attentive , pleasant staff. Be prepared to hike to Vernazza, otherwise taxi or bus shuttle unless you have your own vehicle. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for tranquility and peace outside of Vernazza proper

property was gorgeous, room was nice, the view is really unbeatable and there was a very friendly cat. it is at the top of the hill so not recommended if you aren't willing to drive or hire a taxi/shuttle (the shuttle was €25 to and from Vernazza with the last pickup from Vernazza at 9:30pm). there is a path down to Vernazza but it is very steep and took us about 20-30 minutes going down and 30-40 going back up. we had a lovely time and would be happy to come back.

Be sure to rent a car or be ready to pay for a taxi ($30). Not walkable to and from Vernazza. If you are American, hold the 0 button to make calls. Marta is very sweet and helpful. We liked how quiet and remote the property, we slept with the breeze from outside. This property is at the top of the mountain and not in the city of Vernazza.
