Amazing, the most wonderful weekend, think it’s the most wonderful place I have stayed in years! Worth every penny and I would come again!

Beyond wonderful fantastic staff attention to details brilliant. So wished we had booked for longer.

Quality hotel, made exceptional by the staff

Everyone so very friendly and helpful. Gorgeous hotel. Great food and ambience is over the top. Best check in I’ve ever had and they upgraded our room to a suite. Had pick up at airport and drop off at cruise terminal so it was all seamless. We hated to leave/ loved the quiet pool area

Few hotels carry the weight of legacy quite like the Taj Mahal Palace, yet the experience does not always match the expectations that stature creates. Certain areas, especially the lobbies and connecting corridors, are frequently congested with tourists and visitors. At times narrow and crowded, these spaces erode the sense of exclusivity one anticipates in a hotel of this standing and diminish what might otherwise be a consistently refined atmosphere. The dining also disappointed. Breakfast at the Sea Lounge was underwhelming: presentation and quality lacked distinction, and the variety was limited compared with hotels of a similar calibre. It made for a rather disappointing start to the day. There is a tendency to lean on past glory. The hotel’s heritage remains its defining strength, yet it sometimes does so at the expense of delivering a contemporary, consistently elevated experience in line with its reputation. That said, the property’s sense of history is genuinely compelling. It is not merely a place to stay but a living archive of a certain Bombay elegance. Corridors adorned with fine paintings and quieter corners allow one to feel the weight of its legacy. The staff are attentive and responsive, which complements the setting. For those familiar with its storied past, particularly guests from the region, the hotel holds particular charm. Nevertheless, it is not a place I see myself returning to, as there are superior hotel experiences on offer in Mumbai.
