The house is really pretty and well kept, the food was good, the staff were polite and helpful. Unfortunately, none of that adds up to the sound of the raucous downstairs throbbing through our room constantly and at a decibel loud enough to be measured on the Richter scale until midnight…. I don’t have a problem with the club having a function and people having lots of fun- but maybe don’t sell the stay as a quaint and old-school relaxing retreat. Would visit again- just probably not on a weekend.

Rooms were very comfortable Andy at reception went out of his way to help with all of our requests Thank you Breakfast was a big disappointment for me. The breakfast order was taken at the bar, and I felt very rushed in selecting my order I felt I was not given enough time to go through the menu. The lady was also taking orders from golfers doing take aways as well The bacon and egg and bacon roll was coved with BBQ sauce and the roll was burnt bacon overcooked, I could not eat it. I would like to see menus on tables and orders taken from there as we had with our dinner menu. I have stayed at Dormie House on four occasions and noticed that the hotel is now running with less staff. Please take the review as constructive criticism

We stayed in a refurbished King Room and it was lovely. Beautiful room, comfy bed, great value of money. We'll definitely stay there again, it's perfect for a weekend getaway. But we won't eat there again, the dinner wasn't great.

I paid $1100 for a renovated room and thought it would be pretty decent for that price … instead I got a renovated room but very small and claustrophobic windows had locks on it that couldn’t be opened like they were painted shut and was told in listing it had 50 inch tv but it was only a little 28 inch tv in the corner on a mount all awkward to watch from bed or any angle and no toaster and microwave in room only mini fridge and kettle .. I thought for $1100 you would at least get those things cause you can get cheaper rooms at different places that have all those things plus more ! Very misleading listing and the shower wouldn’t stay hot when using and turn cold so I told reception and their excuse was it’s an old building and everyone showers at same time … whaaaat lol … does everyone shower at 5:00am I don’t think so… the only good thing about this room was heated tiles in bathroom that’s literally it ! And they didn’t even have a common room with microwave for all guests !! So I had to go downstairs to kitchen where they cook in restaurant and asked them to reheat my food otherwise I couldn’t eat what I had in fridge … and no elevator even a small one so I had to life my luggage bags up the stairs … what a pain

Stayed for one night. I was kindly upgraded by the polite helpful front desk staff. He even went ahead and turned the heater on so the room would be warm after I had my dinner. The room was clean and comfortable. Everything I needed was included. Very quiet Comfortable bed . Will be back

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this historic property. Staff were particularly friendly and obliging. We stayed in an updated room which was very comfortable.

Great one night stay. Underfloor heating was brilliant. Staff brilliant.

Beautiful old hotel with an old world charm about it. Very quiet through the night so a good nights sleep is assured.

Lovely location. Ground floor Queen room extremely small - no room for luggage as the bed took up almost the whole room. Bathroom only suitable for one person at a time. Overlooked the buggy garage so had to keep the blind closed. Would definitely request and pay for a larger room if we ever stayed again. Staff were friendly though and the terrace for meals overlooking the golf course was beautiful.

Our room was very comfortable & spotlessly clean with a beautiful view over the golf course. Our dinner was delicious, the wine list was great and best of all, the staff were so friendly.
