The room was clean and acceptable, but the worst thing happened to me with this hotel. Never ever happened to me before this place. I stopped by the previous day to drop my very heavy carry-on suitcase, so next day would have been easier for me to come back to this property and check in. The staff member at the front desk said they don’t accept any luggage from anyone. This is outrageous!!! Every hotel in Japan nicely helps with this. So THIS IS THE ONLY HOTEL IN JAPAN THAT REFUSED TO HOLD MY LUGGAGE. AWFUL SERVICE HERE!! At least for me, because next day when I came back at check in time after my previous hotel kept my luggage after my check out (they were amazing), I SAW DOZENS OF SUITCASES ALIGNED ALL OVER THE LOBBY AND HALLWAY. So either they lied to me or they didn’t really wanted to help me at all. Hateful people here and despicable service. I will NEVER COME BACK TO THIS HOTEL, and shouldn’t you either to avoid aggravation. I travel to Tokyo several times a year and there are plenty of better options in the same area for the same price or cheaper. In any case, I rather pay a bit more and get some decent and helpful service. I also dropped a hotel review sheet that I found in my room at the front desk, but the rude lady there took it and I’m sure she read my negative comments and thrown it out. This is not serious either. Awful experience overall! Keep in mind that if you travel with luggage, you will have to hold it until check in time. Unbelievable!

The hotel was in a good location, close to the train station, but a short walk away so quieter. The room was clean and the staff were friendly.

The walls have alot of marks and the sink was not draining properly. There was a stain on the comforter. Not really happy with this second stay with Ueno Urban Hotel Annex.

Good location and stay from Ueno station

The hotel was just a few minutes walk to Ueno station. Its also close to convenience stores. Staff we're very helpful. Room clean except for stains on the walls. Bathroom was very clean. I recommend this hotel.

I stayed here on my fourth trip to Japan and it was probably the worst hotel I’ve ever booked. It is really close to Ueno station, but that’s the only perk. The rooms were dingy and needed updating, the bed and bedding was terrible, and we had no water pressure. It took 35 minutes to fill the bathtub. There was also only one channel available on TV. This room was also very cramped. Most Japanese hotel rooms are small, but this was particularly bad. Skip this one and spend a little more to stay somewhere else in Ueno or Okachimachi.

clean room, high security level. convenient location to Ueno station! Highly recommended;-)
