Hands down the best breakfast bar in recent memory. Our room happened to be right above the nightclub, so some nights it was loud until midnight, other nights it wrapped up by 11pm. Also, the private balcony chairs and balcony overall is filthy dirty and the wifi speaker in the room didn't work. The location was a nice change of pace, not smack in the middle of the tourist centro, but close enough to a few small grocery stores for essentials. Did I mention that breakfast?

Really lovely hotel with very friendly, helpful staff. Hotel feels very high end, everything was super clean too. Only issue (which was not Yalo’s fault) was that Hotels.com hadn’t passed on our request for a room with 2 single beds despite selecting that option when booking. However when we made the staff aware, they were really apologetic and got us a new room as quickly as they could. Overall I’d definitely recommend this hotel.

Very nice hotel conveniently located in Gent. Just a 15 minute tram ride from the station. Tram stops located close to the hotel. Just a 5 minute walk to St Bavos Cathedral etc. But not a noisy neighbourhood. Good size room. Very comfortable. Fridge included. A nice selection of vinyl jazz LP’s and vinyl player included in the room. Good shower.Staff were all very helpful. I only had the continental breakfast, but excellent choices and really good quality. The rooftop bar was open during my stay and was well worth a visit. A nice spot of a sunny evening for a beer overlooking the city. Would recommend and will certainly stay there again.

What I liked about this hotel was the central location and friendly staff. What I didn’t like was the design of the rooms and some noise. Who puts tinted mirrors in a hotel room? Oh so cool, and yet, the lighting and mirror situation were so bad you simply had to guess (or use your own mirror) if applying makeup. The sink and mirror were outside the bathroom which was odd but manageable. Noise from the bar one of the nights was also a problem.

Staff at front desk was extremely helpful in pointing out what to see and do, where to eat and drink. And the rooftop bar/restaurant was a great place for dinner.

Loved this hotel - lovely staff, fabulous property, great location, and large, modern rooms for a good value. This was my first time in Ghent and I loved it. Would highly recommend Yalo and will certainly stay again on my next trip to Ghent.
