The location at the bottom of the street near the Cowgate was ok but I needed to take into account the incline up to the high street.
Closeness to station and transport is good.
Breakfast adequate for the day’s excursions.
Needed to get to bus station and did it in 20mins. At 80 years of age I was proud of myself!
There were many senior citizens in the building.
My only criticism would be not knowing the layout and procedure for food etc all doable.

The hostel is close to royal miles one of the tourist attractions in Edinburgh. Definitely worth it for solo traveler

Lovely stay in a very nice location.
Staff at reception were absolutely lovely and were super helpful!
Will gladly stay here again :)

The hostel was very hot. The windows only open slightly, which is understandable for safety reasons. However our room overlooked an outdoor bar area. We had to shut the window because of the noise of the bar, but this meant our room became very hot overnight.
The mattress and pillow were too firm so it was an uncomfortable night.
Main areas of the room looked clean but there was a sickly smell in the bathroom area of our room and some of the furniture looked dirty and difficult to clean.
The hostel is in a good central location, but I would not stay there again.

Staff was polite and helpful with directions. Breakfast had no eggs, and the coffee machine was not working well. Also, I wish I did not have to pay for a towel, and the bar downstairs below my room was very noisy, so I did not get much sleep.

There was no elevator and we had to take the luggage up the steep stairs. There was no air conditioner and the windows barely open to let the cold in. The open windows let all the scream and loud talking from the amenities area, you could barely sleep. The toilet and the shower was no divided and everything got wet, moreover the water from the shower did not drained maintaining the water still, not very clean sharing this with strangers.
DO NOT STAY HERE.

Tuyệt vời The manager was very cordial and kind when we checked in. The hostel itself is excellent. No air, but fans that do the trick. We stayed in a four bunk room with two private toilets and showers. It was great. Close to everything and we walked everywhere. The street and sidewalk outside were a little littered. But that did not affect our stay. There was a cafe and small outdoor gathering area perfect for a rest or cocktail!

Older property but well maintained. Check in and out was quick and easy, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect, right in the middle of the city. We stayed in a family room and would absolutely stay here again.
