Plausible time travel decor - ambience conjures late 18th, early 19th c origin of building (in fact very eclectic but why quibble). Room comfortable and nothing lacking. Was provided with french press
coffee maker for coffee service in mornings, nice touch. Plumbing also a whiff of days long gone: claw-foot tub with brass handles and regulator.

I absolutely cannot wait to stay here again. It is absolutely stunning and the staff is so friendly.. the beds were comfortable and the bathtub was the perfect thing to come home to after a long day of walking in the city. The little lounge areas sporadically placed along the ground floor were also beautiful and made the stay feel more home-y. We also love a property that includes a friendly cat.. haha ;)

Wonderful boutique hotel. Lovely bedrooms and communal lounges. Fab location for the Barbican, easy walking distance. We took breakfast in the library which was really special. The staff could not do enough for us, we will definitely be going back.

Tuyệt vời A lovely, atmospheric place very conveniently located to the train station and other sites. Several nooks for curling up with a book if you desire. My room on the top floor was gorgeous and a decent size. Depending which room, you may have to navigate stairs, but that was no issue for me. The huge bathtub was heaven for me, as I prefer baths to shower. Someone else might not like that. Staff were friendly and I truly appreciated that my room was available early so it was ready after my long journey. Only big drawback for me was the lack of readily available coffee or tea on premises without ordering room service.

Very historical. Everything was great staff, cleanliness, breakfast, location and best of all we got a upgrade to a stunning 4 poster bed room

Great location close to tube station. Absolutely charming and lovely place. Excellent staff. Bagheera was especially welcoming. Courtesy bar amazing best gins, too.

The Rookery was fabulous! The building is full of history, the decor is exquisite, and the staff is amazing. We had traveled to four different countries and stayed in six hotels. The Rookery by far was the absolute best one - hands down! It was the perfect ending to our trip.

Clean, cozy, with olde English charm. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful. Quiet at night. The soaking bath was fabulous and luxurious. Get a reservation at nearby Bouchon Racine for a fancy French meal while you are here. About a 30-40 min walk to main attractions like Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square, but the advantage is that you get to stay out of the large tourist crowds.
