The room was clean, the breakfast was surprisingly good and everything, including the A/C, worked well. I would recommend.

This is a very old, poorly maintained property. The bathrooms were dingy, the furniture looked worn and unclean, and even the telephone in the room was dirty. My sister's room had a strong sulfur smell, and our room had an unpleasant odor as well, although I couldn't identify exactly what it was. During the week, there were construction workers staying at the property, and they were extremely loud and inconsiderate. Every morning around 5:30 a.m., they would start their trucks and let the loud engines idle for over 20 minutes while standing outside having loud conversations. It made it impossible to sleep, and it was frustrating that there seemed to be no consideration for other guests. The location is not ideal either. The property is situated on a busy street, far from both the beach and the downtown area. The parking spaces are also extremely narrow. While we were able to make it work with our large SUV, parking was difficult and often inconvenient. If you're at all particular about where you stay, I would not recommend this property. Our trip was planned rather hastily, and I didn't do enough research before booking this property. Had I done my due diligence, I would have chosen a different place to stay.

We liked the location. Very walkable to restaurants and stores. It was clean even though old. The motel was okay for the price in Santa Barbara. Parking was difficult because so many construction workers were staying there with their huge trucks taking up the parking lot. Also, they all left VERY early in the morning and we could hear them leave.

It was ok. Our suite was big but it was outdated. It also seemed like it might be a transient area where people were living rather than vacationing.

It was ok. The price was right but the room was old the bed was super uncomfortable and there was ants in the bathroom. There was no other locks on the door but the handle lock which was a bit frightening.

Pros - Great location, nearby most of Santa Barbara's shopping and popular spots. Great for families. Loved the family suite with a separate room for the kids. Air conditioning worked great. Cons - Rooms are a bit outdated (there was construction in some of the rooms, so maybe they are upgrading?) Bathrooms needed a deeper clean. Breakfast was minimal. Overall we had a good stay.

My family had a wonderful stay at the Sandpiper Lodge during our vacation. It's a really central location with easy freeway access. It was a very comfortable stay in a two-bedroom suite. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable for my family of five, including two little kids. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub when we were not out in town. The breakfast was decent though I do think some hot breakfast items (like eggs, pancakes, bacon/sausage) would really take this location to another level. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend as an affordable Santa Barbara lodging option for families or even solo travel. 10/10

The room was decent sized and we got three beds which a lot of hotels don't offer. But it had dirty looking old carpeting and the sink areas need to be tiled. If you splash water around near the sinks, you'll have wet socks. The drainage in one of the sinks was not good and had a musty odor. The AC definitely had mold as the air coming out smelled after the first night. Breakfast was barebones, not even any hard boiled eggs, which is not hard to do. Cleaning staff was attentive and we were able to switch out towels during the day. Parking spaces were like the narrowest I've ever seen. They dont accomodate large vehicles very well at all and all we had was a minivan. Although our stay was okay, the hotel needs quite a remake.

We had a great stay at this hotel. The hotel is centrally located and within a mile of the freeway. The check-in process took 2 minutes. The staff was welcoming and efficient. The facilities were well-taken care of, as I noticed several staff members attending to the common areas (mopping hallway floors, cleaning the pool, trimming vegetation, etc.). The room was as expected. It had A/C, a hair dryer, a microwave, and a fridge. The room stayed very dark thanks to the blackout curtains and was very quiet throughout the night. Breakfast was very basic and was not the highlight of our stay, but it was convenient to have on-site. There are local eateries nearby as well. Based on my experience, I would recommend staying at this hotel.
